StarFox Zero is coming to Wii U this holiday, Nintendo announced during its E3 Nintendo Direct show. The reveal came after puppet versions of Miyamoto and co turned into characters from the game.

The new game offers a selection of vehicles, including ships and land crafts. Gameplay looks like classic StarFox but makes use of the Wii U GamePad to offer a first-person view of the action while the TV shows a more cinematic angle.

You aim by moving the GamePad around and making use of the in-built gyro, while dual analogue controls are used to handle flight.

Miyamoto confirmed that StarFox Zero is neither a remake or a part four or five in the StarFox series.
