Bethesda has provided a minor update on the release timing for upcoming space RPG epic Starfield via the game’s support page.
The game, which was originally set to release back in November, is the eagerly awaited next title from the developer of Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim – and fans are eager to know when they can get their hands on the title.
Now, as spotted by Video Games Chronicle, a new page has gone up on the Bethesda Support website to reiterate the current ETA for the game – although it stops short of giving specifics.
Starfield predicted release date
According to the page, Starfield is still set to release on Xbox Series X|S and PC ‘in the first half of 2023‘. This is the same window they gave last May, when they first announced that the game wouldn’t make 2022 on Twitter.
As for exactly when in that first half is still up in the air at this point. However, fans are speculating that the game could release on March 23.
While this hasn’t at all been confirmed by Bethesda, as PC Gamer notes, it’s an interesting theory – as it would mark 120 years since the Wright Bros filed their patent for the first flying machine.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see for an official date – and we’ll let you know when Bethesda announce one.
Starfield was confirmed as an Xbox and PC exclusive back in June of 2021, following Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda parent company Zenimax earlier that same year.
However, the upshot is that the game will indeed be available as a Day One launch on Xbox Game Pass when it arrives.
Our last proper look at the game came in an extended gameplay reveal during last year’s Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, so it’s high time we saw more from it soon. Hopefully, we won’t be waiting too long.
