Square Enix doesn’t yet have a “concrete plan” to bring Dragon Quest XI to the US or Europe, but it has not ruled out a Western release altogether, the publisher has said.

Taking to Twitter following yesterday’s announcement, the official Dragon Quest account told fans:

“Hi everyone! I know a lot of people have been asking if Dragon Quest XI is coming to the West but sadly we don’t have a concrete plan [at the moment] :(“

“I’ve been told the team will consider bringing DQ XI to the West as we’ve done in the past for other DQ games but I don’t know anything else.”

Dragon Quest XI was announced for PS4 and Nintendo 3DS yesterday, and is being considered for Nintendo’s upcoming NX.

The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 4, although a release date has yet to be confirmed.
