Hot on the heels of the announcement of an unofficial PS4 Remote Play application for PCs by Twisted, Sony has confirmed that it is working on bringing the functionality to PC and Mac in an official capacity.
“Some people asked if we plan to provide Remote Play function to PC, and yes, we are indeed working on an official application for PC/Mac,” Tweeted Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios.
No time frame for the release of the application was given.
Remote Play is currently supported on PS Vita, PS TV, and some Xperia devices and Bravia TVs.
News of official support for PC Remote Play from Sony will be bad news for developer Twisted, which intended charging $10 for its application.
