Best-selling PlayStation titles, including Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Last of Us Remastered, will be sold under a new label, ‘PlayStation Hits,’ and feature an MSRP price of $19.99, the PlayStation Blog announced today.
Sony: “From award-winning epics to family-friendly favorites, PlayStation Hits offers an awesome lineup of games for $19.99 USD (MSRP) each on PlayStation Store and select retailers across the U.S.”
To tell the difference between a ‘Hits’ title and its original release, PlayStation says Hits will have red packaging, and on the PS store, players will see red banners so it’s simple to see which games are included under the Hits label. Interestingly, Sony says that for Canada, “games will range in price, starting at $19.99 CAD (MSRP).” Below is an image showing all the upcoming games that will be under the Hits label in the U.S., starting on June 28th.
Canada has a similar list, but it’s missing DOOM. For Europe, the starting list (a little later on July 18th) is larger: Europe’s Hits will also include Rayman Legends, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Mortal Kombat X, Batman: Arkham Knight, Watch_Dogs, Need For Speed, Need For Speed Rivals, EA Sports UFC 2, Earth Defense 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse. However, Europe is missing Battlefield 4, Street Fighter V, Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience, DOOM, and Yakuza Kiwami.
Whichever region, it’s a well-picked list of titles, and Sony says that games will continue to be added. PlayStation Hits is very similar to Nintendo Selects. Selects put a new label and red packaging on select games, such as Kirby Triple Deluxe and Super Mario 3D Land. Also like the upcoming Hits, Nintendo Select games are priced at $19.99 MSRP. Now, PlayStation 4 owners will no longer have to look for deals on Ebay for certain titles - Hits will offer critically acclaimed and popular titles such as Battlefield 4 and Metal Gear Solid V for a great price.
