Modiphius Entertainment just announced closed beta signups for the new Fallout tabletop 2d20 RPG.

The publisher has teased the game since last spring and is finally ready for launch. The closed beta will allow fans of the Fallout universe a chance to playtest the game before its official release and give feedback that will be instrumental in the game’s final design.

At the core of the many of Modiphius’ acclaimed tabletop RPGs is the 2d20 game system, which is described as a very cinematic, action-oriented system that is “designed to produce varied and interesting results from dramatic and action-packed situations”

Tabletop RPGs are not a new phenomenon. Their history dates back all the way to the 18th century as a derivate of war and strategy games such as Chess and Chaturanga. Like all games, tabletop strategy games have come a long way. The new Fallout 2d20 RPG is no exception to the rule, taking after the original Fallout: Wasteland Warfare miniatures tabletop game.

Modiphius has seen incredible success with many of their games, and the choice to siphon the popularity of the Fallout universe into a brand new game comes as no surprise. In fact, they didn’t just stop at one game. Modiphius outlined plans for two new games, with “the first expanding on the narrative wargame experience of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare, their licensed tabletop miniatures game. A second more traditional tabletop RPG will follow using the company’s 2d20 System.”

The second one is the game for which Modiphius is in search of players to join in on the closed beta. Even if you were among the crowd that shared in the unpleasant experience of Fallout 76, you can rest easy knowing that this game harkens back to a simpler time in the Fallout lineage.

If you’re interested in signing up for the Fallout 2d20 closed-beta experience, follow the link below. The deadline for entry closes on January 13th, 2020 at midnight. Not everyone that signs up will receive a play-test spot and everyone that participates will be required to sign an NDA.
