The launch of the latest Call of Duty game is nearly upon us proper – as Modern Warfare 2 is set to release on October 28.

You may still be on the fence, however, on whether to pre-order or not. Hopefully we can help out and offer you a little advice to aid your decision.

First off, we’ll say that as of the time of writing – October 26 – pre-order bonuses are still on offer. In fact, ordering now will get you immediate access to the game’s campaign mode – giving you ample time to get up to date on the story before you head into the multiplayer.

In addition, you’ll also nab yourself the Final Judgement Bundle and Khaled Al-Ased Operator Bundle for Vanguard and the original Warzone.

Finally, PlayStation owners can also grab themselves the console-exclusive Oni Operator Pack – which includes Hiro ‘Oni’ Watanabe Operator, a High Level Weapon Blueprint.

Those who plump up a little extra for the Vault Edition can also nab themselves all this, plus the Season 1 Battle Pass +50 weapon skips, Red Team 141 Operator Pack and the FJX Cinder Weapon Vault.

As for the game itself, the game’s multiplayer will feature a bevvy of game modes at launch – as confirmed by the Call of Duty blog.

They include Free-For-All, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Headquarters, Control, Prisoner Rescue, Knock Out, Search & Destroy for the classic 6v6 configuration.

Meanwhile, 32V32 players can look forward to Ground War and Ground War Invasion. Those looking for a serious challenge will also be able to take on the super tough ‘Tier 1’ Playlists.

And that’s before we get onto the Special Ops co-op mode, which will have three maps at launch – and also add Raids later on. Basically, you’ll get a fair amount of bang for your buck – if that’s your thing.

While this doesn’t in any way constitute a review of the game, hopefully this will make your decision whether to pre-order MW2 a little more informed.
