Shin Megami Tensei V, the newest entry to the Megami Tensei series, will launch in 2021 for the Switch.

However, that has led to a lengthy development time as it has taken  approximately three times as long to make compared to the demons in previous Shin Megami Tensei games for older platforms. Judging by this new trailer, though, it will be worth the wait for SMT fans from all over the world.

The announcement came in today’s Nintendo Direct Mini. The game was revealed in 2017, and late last year, Atlus affirmed that development on the game was going well, with news to come in 2020. Kazuyuki Yamai is the producer on the game, returning from Shin Megami Tensei IV, and V is meant to be a marriage of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and Shin Megami Tensei IV elements. Specifically, the “profound charm” of Nocturne and the demon-raising feature of IV will be the core of the experience, and it will utilise the hardware of the Switch to its fullest potential.
