One of the biggest announcements at this year’s BlizzCon was the reveal of Diablo 4, the much anticipated newest installment to the action role-playing dungeon crawler series. Since then, fans have been wondering when the game will actually be released.
According to an old rumor, not only has the release date for Diablo 4 been leaked, but also the release of a beta. Normally, a rumor like this would be brushed off, but this was the same rumor that claimed Diablo 4 was going to be announced at BlizzCon this year, so it does have some legitimacy.
Apparently, the beta for Diablo 4 will be coming out sometime next year. The rumor doesn’t specify which platforms this beta will be available on, but it’s assumed that it will be on each of the platforms the game’s already been announced for (PS4, Xbox One and PC). According to the rumor, the beta will be quite a while ahead of the full game’s release, which should be sometime in 2021. This seems to line up with Blizzard’s announcement, as its confirmed the game wouldn’t be releasing anytime soon.
After more than seven years since Diablo 3’s release, though, there are plenty of fans ready to eat up whatever little morsel of information they can find about the upcoming sequel. It’s already been confirmed by Blizzard that the game will see the return of Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto, and while it’s confirmed this will happen on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, this rumor also indicates that it will be playable on PS4 and Xbox Project Scarlett.
Diablo 4 is currently in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
