Over the next two weeks, Rockstar is beginning its biggest GTA Online giveaway, gifting players with $2 million simply for logging in. Considering the time it takes just to make $1 million within the game, there’s a great chance that this promotion could lead to plenty of players returning to GTA Online.

The promotion will be taking place over the next few weeks. If players log in between January 30 and February 5, they’ll be gifted $1 million. Then, if they log in again between February 6 and February 13, they’ll receive another $1 million. The money will then be deposited into each player’s Maze Bank account within 72 hours.

Although this promotion is a great gift for players, you might be surprised to learn that $2 million actually doesn’t get you that far. Given the amount of luxury apartments, sports cars, outfits, and businesses that are currently available for purchase, you could easily spend $2 million in less than 30 minutes. Still, even if you can only buy a few high priced items, the $2 million is certainly worth logging in for, especially considering how long it would take to normally get on your own.

Rockstar will definitely pull some former players back into the world of GTA Online with this promotion, but it isn’t doing it because it needs to. The GTA Online player base has remained strong since its 2013 release, and thanks to regular updates from Rockstar, it has remained one of the most popular multiplayer platforms of the past decade.

Most recently came the addition of the Diamond Casino Heist, the biggest heist that the game has ever seen, as well as a brand new radio station, and a new line of high performance luxury electric sports cars in the Överflöd Imorgon release. Additions such as these are exactly why so many people have been playing GTA Online for so long.

Outside of GTA Online, rumors on the release of GTA VI continue to develop, although the game is more than likely a few years away from hitting shelves. That doesn’t seem to be a huge concern of Rockstar’s though, as GTA V continues to sell copies, and players keep coming back all the time to GTA Online.
