SEGA will be exhibiting Total War: Warhammer behind closed doors at Koch Media’s E3 booth, the publisher has confirmed. Confirmation follows the news earlier this week that SEGA of America did not have plans to attend E3 with its own booth. Koch Media already assists SEGA with its physical distribution across parts of Europe, including Spain, France and Germany. “Deep Silver/Koch Media are a key business partner for SEGA Europe, managing the distribution of packaged goods in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Benelux and Scandinavia,” a SEGA representative said in a statement provided to VideoGamer....

Frogwares has announced prequel detective adventure Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will land on new-gen consoles and PC this November. Microsoft has confirmed that psychological horror titles Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill: Homecoming are now available on Xbox One’s backwards compatibility lineup. Silent Hill HD Collection was originally released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and spruces up Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 in shiny high-definition. To be fair, both games are some of the finest slices of survival horror you can tuck into, although the collection suffered from some glaring technical issues that seriously marred the series’ iconic foggy visuals....

Sony has posted a new video casting a reflective glance back at its 2018 lineup, which to be fair was probably one of the strongest we’ve seen in years. Things got off to a flying start with the Shadow of the Colossus remake, and was quickly followed by God of War, Ni no Kuni II, Detroit: Become Human, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and more. Shares in Sony have dropped by 13 percent, as the Tokyo stock market reacted to yesterday’s industry-shaking announcement that Microsoft will buy Activision Blizzard. The fall in stock price is the largest since October 2008 - the same month Sony was forced to recall 100,000 laptop batteries due to fire hazard. The Financial Times and Bloomberg spotted Sony’s sudden stock plunge overnight, and noted it had wiped around $20bn from Sony’s market value....
Limited Run Games has announced that it will be offering up a physical release of Spelunky on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita later this week. The Derek Yu-designed roguelike platformer was originally released on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita back in 2013, before tunnelling its way over to PS4 the following year. There’s also murmurs of a Collector’s Edition of Spelunky, following a cryptic Tweet from LRG featuring a Golden Idol....
Steam functionality such as sending friend invites, voting in Greenlight, gaining new Steam Profile levels and submitting content to Steam Workshop are now locked behind a $5 spend wall in an effort to combat spamming and phishing, Valve has announced. “We’ve chosen to limit access to these features as a means of protecting our customers from those who abuse Steam for purposes such as spamming and phishing,” the company explained....
