A few months after Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s release last year, players made a curious discovery: a blank eighth slot in the game’s downloadable content menu. Players hadn’t been aware of any other content besides the seven planned bonus tombs that Square Enix formally announced. This cryptic slot wasn’t immediately visible when the latest Tomb Raider launched on September 14, 2018. It wasn’t until April, shortly before the final promised bonus tomb went live, that the eighth slot made its highly debated appearance - and as of now, several months later, Square Enix still isn’t saying anything about it....

Shenmue 3 was one of the big surprises of E3 2015. No one actually believed Sony would announce a third in the series was going to become a real thing, and yet here we sit a few weeks later and that’s the situation. What a world we live in… The problem no one is focusing on, though, is that Shenmue 3 is not for real men. At all. In fact, it’s borderline insulting....

Atlus has announced Soul Hackers 2, which will arrive on 26th August for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. That’s right - there’s no Nintendo Switch version announced, and it is actually arriving in the West alongside its Japanese release. “In a war between devil summoners, it’s up to Ringo and her team to decrypt destiny and save the world from apocalypse!” Atlus said today, alongside the below trailer....

Konami hasn’t released a new Silent Hill game since 2012, and there’s been no word on a new entry in the series since the company canceled Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills project. While some fans may have been holding out hope that Konami may one day make a new Silent Hill game, things aren’t looking good for the fan favorite survival-horror franchise, as Konami has let the Silent Hill website domain expire....

After a tweet teasing some new information about Skate 4 was released, EA dropped a developer update video for us today. And the big news about Skate 4 is that…it’s still happening. At least the developer video seemed to hint at some already developed gameplay. We knew Skate 4 was coming back in late January when EA announced the creation of a brand new studio to spearhead the development of the game....

Games about tagging always make me slightly angry. That’s solely because Sega never saw fit to release Jet Set Radio Future on PC though. The existence of Sludge Life mitigates that a bit. It’s an open-world game built around exploration and idiocy, two of my favorite things. It doesn’t last long, but I still had a good time getting to know this strange place and its stranger inhabitants. There isn’t much in the way of gameplay, but as an interactive piece of strangeness, it makes for a good way to kill a couple of hours....

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 puts you in the shoes of Raven, a clandestine operative sent behind enemy lines. In the deserts and mountains of Kuamar, you’ll search for your prime target, Bibi Rashida, the country’s president. Beware, though, because she’s backed by several cohorts and countless troops. The game emphasizes stealth, action, and a lot of sniping. You’ll need to take note of your target’s distance, wind speed, and bullet drop to make your shot count....

Over the past weekend, EVO 2019 saw a number of new fighting game champions crowned, new fighting game announcements, and a lot of ups and downs. One of the biggest disappointments would be, arguably, the “reveal” that Solid Snake was joining the Tekken 7 roster, and even though EVO has apologized for the joke, it left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouth, including Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter....

Placed next to First Blood and the unexpectedly long-lived Rambo franchise, Garth Jennings’ Son of Rambow doesn’t seem so odd. More than 30 years after the original adaptation of David Morrell’s novel, we’re now looking at Last Blood, or Rambo No. 5, as Lou Bega might have called it. Although the original film represents some of Sylvester Stallone’s best acting work, it doesn’t necessarily have “action franchise” written all over it....

As of late, Sony has rapidly acquired companies, events, and studios left and right. Earlier this year, Sony got a hold of Evo, the biggest fighting game tournament in the world, and just a few days ago, Sony acquired Housemarque, the developer behind the well-received Returnal. The acquisition streak by Sony continued today, as Dutch studio and PC port team Nixxes Software joined PlayStation Studios. Hermen Hulst, the head of PlayStation Studios, announced the news on his Twitter page....

Sony has announced that the long-rumoured ability to change your PlayStation Network name is officially in the works for PlayStation 4 users. The format holder confirmed the news in a post on the PlayStation Blog, revealing that a beta for PSN ID Change (as it’s officially known as) will be released in November, before rolling out to all PS4 owners in early 2019. PSN ID Change is part of the PlayStation Preview Program, and will allow you to change your name as many times as you like....

Sony has seemingly quietly removed the expiry dates on games soon to leave PlayStation Plus. Previously a specific date was given when a game would be leaving the service. Now, while games are still listed in the Last Chance to Play tab, there is no longer a specific date. Watch on YouTube Eurogamer Newscast: Will Konami succeed bringing Silent Hill back from the dead? Currently listed in the Last Chance to Play tab is PS4 game Rez Infinite, but without a date it’s unclear how much longer it will be available....

Sony is set to announce a new line of hardware focused on gamers next week. A tweet from Sony asks you to “Find Your Zone” at 10pm UK time on 28th June. While there’s little official information on what’s going to be anounced, serial leaker Tom Henderson reported on what is expected (thanks, eXputer). Three new headsets are said to be revealed under the “Inzone” H-series brand, all of which include 360 spatial sound for gaming and Discord certification....

Sony has updated its Share Factory Studio for PS5 with a new feature called Bits, which allows users to edit and personalise their gameplay clips. Saved clips can now be edited into an existing meme template, or you can create your own in a simple editor. “Our goal with Bits is to make it super easy and fun for PlayStation gamers to create and share short-form gameplay videos for sharing cool achievements, jokes, stunts, and any other type of eye-catching content,” reads a PlayStation Blog on the topic....

Today Atlus released another of its sequence of daily trailers for its upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, showing one of the locations of the game. This time around, we get another look at the Cirque du Goumaden, which is where fusion between demons happens. As usual, the trailer also includes the daily horoscope, which places Capricorn at the top of the fortune ranking and Cancer at the very bottom. For once, looks like it’s my lucky day....

Today Atlus released one of its daily trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, focusing on the demons that will appear in the game. Today’s trailer is another showcasing a Sabbath (a special additional attack including a bunch of demons). It includes Turbo-Granny, Kali, Makami, Kresnik, Andras, Cu Chulainn, and more. The trailer also includes the daily horoscope, but this time around it’s the version that lists 8 lucky signs for June 24: Leo, Pisces, Aries, Cancer, Scorpio,Virgo, Capricorn, and Libra....

A few weeks ago Degica Games announced Space Invaders Extreme would be coming to Steam and now there’s a release date of 12 February. The game will retail for $19.99 and there’s a 10% launch week discount. There’s a decent amount of features including a world ranking system which should please all Space Invaders fans.
