Who would’ve anticipated the iconic yellow sponge entering the Smash universe? But according to a poster recently shared by Nickelodeon Animation on Twitter, the idea isn’t completely improbable. Today Cloud Imperium Games released more videos showcasing the content of its growing space game Star Citizen. The first video focuses on one of Star Citizen’s most relevant criminal factions, the Nine Tails, and then moves on to show work being done to overhaul the super-unwieldy commodity trading kiosks. Bad news for anyone wanting to watch the latest Around the Verse today which was to feature a load of Star Citizen Squadron 42 information. CIG has announced that the stream has been rescheduled for tomorrow 22 December. Two hours is a long show and hopefully the “issues” can be ironed out. Perhaps they are having an emergency meeting today to explain wtf they are now selling tanks. As you can imagine, there are multiple pieces that we’ve been pulling together for this episode, which is now running around two hours in length....

Following the announcement of the release date of the upcoming Star Ocean game Star Ocean: The Divine Force, the Square Enix released an additional video and plenty of images, on top of details. First of all, we get to see the first 8 minutes of the game, featuring beautiful cutscenes and introducing some of the characters we’ll meet in the game. This is available with both English and Japanese voiceovers....

Electronic Arts has announced Star Wars: Squadrons, the publisher’s next big Star Wars game, which is being developed by Motive Studios. The game will see players clash in X-wings, TIE fighters, and other ships in single-player and multiplayer battles. “In Star Wars: Squadrons, players will enlist as starfighter pilots, stepping into the cockpits of iconic starfighters from both the New Republic and Imperial fleets. They’ll plan skirmishes with their squadron in the briefing room before taking off for space battles across the galaxy,” EA said in a press release....

EA’s next AAA video game release in the Star Wars galaxy will be Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It’s a single-player game, and it boasts Gotham‘s Joker actor Cameron Monaghan as its lead character. Steam’s next event will be Steam Survival Fest, a celebration of survival games that will include “demos and discounts on games that test your ability to survive the elements”. Season 2 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers featured the hand-off of powers between Jason, Zack, and Trini to Rocky, Adam, and Aisha. The two groups never truly met in person (and no, Jason having a guitar over his face doesn’t count) during MMPR since the actors for the original trio had left the show. Rocky and Adam did later meet Jason when he returned in Power Rangers Zeo but we sadly never got the chance to see the full trio meet up....

This year’s Summer Game Fest has finally begun, and Geoff Keighley chose to kick it off with a new Street Fighter 6 announcement. Capcom specifically decided to reveal a returning character in the form of Guile, who many undoubtedly expected to return. But as you may remember, a recent leak seemingly showed the entire base roster for the game, making this announcement even less of a surprise. At the very least, it appears to confirm the validity of the leak, as the new Guile design in Street Fighter 6 completely lines up with his leaked character artwork....
