Bizarrely missing at launch, Street Fighter 5’s latest game update has finally added a Versus CPU mode, Capcom has announced. “Now, players can sharpen their skills before challenging others online by slugging it out offline against the computer, with varying difficulty options,” notes Capcom. The game update also adds the following features: Urien First introduced in Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact, Urien returns to Street Fighter V donning a pinstriped suit and a sinister smile....

A new theme park management sim from the creators of PS2’s Rollercoaster World is heading to PS4 later this year. Due for release on October 13, Rollercoaster Dreams lets players create their own theme parks and build their own rollercoasters then, thanks to the included PlayStation VR support, experience them in virtual reality. 2004 strategy game Rome: Total War is heading to iPad, Creative Assembly has announced. The iPad version promises to offer the full Rome: Total War experience “without compromise”, including a “full scale campaign”, “enormous 3D battles” featuring “thousands of on-screen units”, and a touch-screen interface to “accurately replicate the desktop game’s mouse and keyboard controls”. The port is being handled by UK team Feral Interactive. “ROME: Total War is still one of our most critically acclaimed Total War titles to date and a firm fan favourite,” said Total War brand director Rob Bartholomew....

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will not feature the Augusta National Golf Club, home of The Masters, EA has confirmed to Polygon. Given the new June release date it had been rumoured the game would miss out The Masters, given the tournament begins tomorrow. Since Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 the series launched in March in order to hit stores ahead of the golf major. “Our license with Augusta National has expired and it does not currently appear in EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour,” reads the statement from EA....

Developer GSC Game World has offered up a six minute insight into the progress of the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 to mark the 14th anniversary of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl. The Armored Core series is one of the most iconic mecha franchises in gaming, but it has been almost a decade since the last main series installment leaving its future unclear. That is, until today. A recent consumer survey sent out by developer FromSoftware appears to have leaked the existence of an Armored Core 6. The screenshots were posted on the Resetera forums by user Red Liquorice. Today, Sega announced that the adventure of its latest 3D Sonic game Sonic Frontiers is far from over. The developer provided a fairly detailed roadmap including three updates to be released in 2023. The first will bring a jukebox feature, a photo mode, and new challenge modes. The second will celebrate Sonic’s own birthday and include an Open Zone Challenge and a new Koco. The third appears to be the juiciest, with new playable characters and new story content....

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will release on April 8, 2022, as announced by Paramount Pictures earlier this week. The news comes from a report from Variety, which also includes new release dates for a number of its other projects. A Quiet Place Part 2 will release on April 23, 2021, and Top Gun: Maverick will release on July 2, 2021, moving both highly-anticipated movies out of 2020. Sony has confirmed during its latest quarterly financial results that PlayStation 4 has now shipped 79 million consoles worldwide, with a staggering 19 million moved during the period April 1, 2017 – March 31, 2018. This is actually down by one million compared to the previous financial year, although considering the PS4 is nearly five-years-old it’s definitely nothing to turn your nose at. Looking ahead, the electronics heavyweight plans to shift an additional 16 million consoles during the 2019 fiscal year....
