EA and Respawn Entertainment announced Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order while presenting a panel at the Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago on Saturday, finally pulling the cover off the long-awaited game. The third-person action game is set to launch on November 15 for PC and console systems. Additionally, it will be a single-player adventure game, with no multiplayer or microtransactions that plagued games like Star Wars Battlefront II. The story is set shortly after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith after all the Jedi are defeated....

ConcernedApe, the creator of farming smash hit Stardew Valley, has announced he’s working on his next game entitled Haunted Chocolatier. The game seems similar to Stardew Valley, only this time you’re trading in farm life for working in a literally haunted chocolatier. You’ll have to gather ingredients, make various chocolates and then run the business of the chocolate shop. However, there’s also going to be a lot more besides. In describing the game, ConcernedApe (real name Eric Barone) doesn’t want to get too specific yet....
Smash indie hit Stardew Valley was a rare game that, upon its release, both felt like it filled a precise niche and created that very niche into which it so satisfyingly fit. Solo developer ConcernedApe started with what could have been a perfectly good Harvest Moon-inspired 2D farming game, were it to have only entailed farming, and from there managed to incorporate rewarding dungeon crawling, relationship building and town management mechanics, in addition to a multitude of other systems....
Bethesda has dropped another behind-the-scenes video for upcoming RPG Starfield, this time focusing on music and sound. The third Into the Starfield episode features Audio Director Mark Lampert and composer Inon Zur having a chat. They talk about their artistic process on the space-set title, and how that differed from the Fallout & The Elder Scrolls series. In an accompanying post, Zur calls the game “the most ambitious project” he’s ever worked on....
PC shooter Squad has quietly been one of the best realistic military shooters on the market, but it has always been lacking a bit in the personality department. Thankfully, there’s a new mod out there that turns Squad into the best Starship Troopers game ever (and yes, there has been an official Starship Troopers game). The Troopers mod (available for free on the Steam workshop) is as unofficial of a Starship Troopers experience as you’re likely to find, but there’s no denying that it was heavily inspired by Paul Verhoeven’s legendary 1997 propaganda parody film....

Stela, a cinematic platformer from Halo Infinite co-developers SkyBox Labs, will release on Steam on March 13. Stela originally launched on Xbox One in October 2019, but since then several improvements have been made. In addition, a day-one update for the PC launch will make it the definitive version of the game. We’ve had our eye on Flight School Studio and MWM Interactive’s Stonefly since late February. The top-down game with soothing overtones certainly made an impression with its painted art style and flying mech combat. Its developers have labeled it an action-adventure game, but have stressed its more calming features. Considering the aforementioned, it sounds like an interesting mix. We’ll know just how well the teams can pull it off when Stonefly launches on June 1 for Steam and the Epic Games Store....

Rumors have been circulating about Grand Theft Auto 6 for literal years, though very little is known about the title. There have been plenty of leaks about the upcoming project but none of these has been proven to be correct. The YouTube channel “GTA expert” now claims to have the first real leak about the upcoming title and it seems the game has been in pre-development since 2013. Anticipation for a new Grand Theft Auto title was always going to be high, especially after the continued success of the series through the last installment....
It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for Blizzard to miss the Holiday season unless there were some major bugs that popped up – the Cataclysm beta has allowed players to get their hands on the expansion, so you would assume it’s close to being complete. That being said it’s a little odd that Blizzard hasn’t given the game an official release date when it’s supposed to be hitting store shelves in the next few months....
Microsoft has announced that Saints Row 2 has joined the company’s rapidly-swelling lineup of Xbox One backwards compatibility titles. Originally released back in 2008, Saints Row 2 takes us back to a time when the franchise was more or less just a slightly more irreverent version of Grand Theft Auto. The humour’s still there, but you won’t be smacking people around with giant purple dildos, leaping across rooftops with superhuman powers, or battling aliens as the President of the United States....
Same-sex marriage is being added to Crusader Kings 3 in its next update. While the base game allows players to express same-sex attraction, it’s not possible to formalise this in marriage. Modders previously attempted to fix this with mods to allow for same-sex concubines and marriage, but these were removed by developer Paradox as they broke the game. “Before 1.3, same-sex concubinage was unintentionally possible to mod in, but had the potential to cause a variety of errors....
Samsung announced a revision to its iconic lineup of SSDs today with the 870 EVO, which is now set to provide consumers with some of the best performance the SATA interface can muster. The 870 lineup replaces the 860 series that premiered back in 2018. Samsung advertises a combination of improved performance specs in addition to far more affordable pricing than when the 860 series first launched. This marks yet another step towards speedy, yet affordable storage options for everyday consumers, professionals, and gamers....
Players who have stuck around with the high seas adventure game Sea of Thieves have been enjoying a plethora of free content this year. The executive producer of the game, Joe Neate, made a big announcement today on the game’s website regarding its future. Neate says in no uncertain terms that Sea of Thieves will not be slowing down or stopping anytime soon. Late last night, developer Nightdive Studios and publisher Valiant Entertainment released a brand new launch trailer for its remaster of cult action-adventure game, Shadow Man. That’s right, the dark and twisted third-person experience is now available to download on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, with a Nintendo Switch port coming next week on Jan. 17.
