Shenmue 3’s graphics could be compromised in favour of funnelling the project’s funding into story, the game’s creator Yu Suzuki has told Eurogamer. Shenmue 3 raised $6.3 million on Kickstarter, but while the game will be created to fit within the funds available, Suzuki says that additional cash money would obviously help. “I could do with a bit more money! The game itself doesn’t have to be gorgeous visually – a lot of the money these days goes into the graphics....

Sifu is set to receive difficulty options this spring, as revealed in a new content roadmap. The kung-fu beat ’em up is brutally hard and was criticised at launch for not including difficulty options. Developer Sloclap previously announced it would be adding in options - and now we know when. The three options will be named Student, Disciple, and Master. Further extras are due out over the course of 2022....

Sony Pictures has hired Jay Basu to write the screenplay for a movie adaptation of Metal Gear Solid, Deadline reports. The Kings of Summer’s Jordan Vogt-Roberts is also reported to have been signed up to direct, with Marvel creative chief Avi Arad on board to produce. Metal Gear Solid, however, will likely be one of Basu’s biggest projects yet, with his previous credits including 2012 sports drama Fast Girls and last year’s Monsters: Dark Continent....

Square Enix kicked off Monday’s E3 2018 conferences and they kicked things off with the new Shadow of the Tomb Raider which was to be expected. As this was a pre-recorded showcase it was over quite but there were a few bits and pieces for PC gamers. Developer GSC Game World has today announced that its anticipated sequel STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl is being delayed from its original April 28 launch date to much later this year, December 8. There are no firm details on what has caused the delay beyond citing more time required for further testing and polishing.
