Chinese PUBG hackers are going to jail with over 140 people arrested since January. If you’re a regular player you are probably already well aware of this, but PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has a huge hacker problem. In any given game the odds are there’s at least one cheater present, and it’s almost guaranteed that cheater is playing from China. For whatever reason, China became the hotbed of PUBG hacks. Maybe it was just a culture that doesn’t seem to despise cheaters as much as elsewhere, or maybe it was the fact that there’s a ton of money to be had in making cheating apps for PUBG....

Of all the species in Skyrim, there’s none quite like the Khajiit. Known for their cat-like exterior, these beings are known to be avid merchants and travelers who have come to Skyrim all the way from Elsweyr. Often dressed in robes and cloaks, their caravans dot the outsides of the cities, as they aren’t allowed to trade within city walls. During your adventures, you’re likely to come across a few notable members of the species, namely J’zargo from the College of Winterhold, as well as the infamously popular M’aiq the Liar, who’s word should not and cannot be trusted under any circumstances....

Bethesda has announced in a new blog post that Skyrim will soon be getting an all-new Survival Mode, as part of the Skyrim Creation Club. Survival Mode adds new gameplay features and challenges to change the world of Skyrim from a carefree jaunt and fantasy adventure setting into a land of unrelenting cold and harsh wilderness. The Survival mode changes the game in a number of ways, all of which will further increase the challenge of the game’s trying Legendary difficulty....

Rebellion has dropped a new video for Sniper Elite 5 ahead of its release later this week, this time focusing on stealth. While, of course, long range shooting might be Karl Fairburne’s attack of choice, sometimes you’ll have to get in close. The team at Rebellion has taken great care in ensuring that not only will this be a more-than viable strategy, but it’ll also be an authentic one. Sonic Frontiers’ 1.10 update is about to be deployed, seemingly starting with PlayStation consoles. The update primarily hopes to address bugs and issues with the game, as well as provide some additional - if unspecified - quality-of-life improvements for players. Whilst the game’s English-language social media channels have yet to publicise the patch, the blue blur’s Japanese counterpart has, revealing that the update is now ready for PS4 and PS5 now and will be available for other platforms “in the near future”....

While Sony’s NGP presentation at GDC merely rehashed a lot of information already known about the device, they did show off at least one new feature – the NGP’s take on augmented reality. Augmented reality is certainly one of the new hot features developers and console makers are looking to incorporate into games and systems. Warframe developer Digital Extremes has revealed it’s creating a new spin-off MMORPG in a fantasy setting, entitled Soulframe. The Canadian studio made the announcement during this year’s TennoCon 2022 event. The new game will take place in a fantasy setting, as opposed to Warframe‘s more sci-fi bent. The game’s creative director Geoff Crookes explains more: “With Soulframe’s worldbuilding and thematic elements, we are really looking to go back to our childhood favourites and pull inspiration from the elaborate fantasy worlds that we fell in love with growing up....

Spellbreak Chapter 1 is about to come to an end. Proletariat has been previewing changes and new features coming to the magical battle royale all month. But now, the developer has finally revealed details about the new Dominion game mode coming to Spellbreak in Chapter 2. Dominion is designed around small-scale team skirmishes. It is an objective-based mode that requires players to focus on capturing points, rather than kills and damage....

Developer Mossmouth has announced that hit platformer Spelunky and its sequel Spelunky 2 will both be heading to Nintendo Switch by Summer 2021. The games, which see players trying to decend through an ever-changing series of levels to amass a wealth of treasure will both come to the handheld with local multiplayer for the first game and local and online multiplayer modes—both co-op and competitive—intact. Spelunky 2 originally launched for PlayStation 4 and PC earlier this year, and creator Derek Yu has recently announced the launch of the public beta of the online multiplayer on PC which will also eventually make its way to the PlayStation 4 version next month and crossplay is also planned — although there’s no word as yet whether the Nintendo Switch version will get this crossplay too....

In the first of two bonus scenes during the credits, a webcast from DailyBugle.net plays a doctored video made by Mysterio before his death that implicates Spider-Man as not only the fiend behind the drone attacks on London, but as the murderer of the seemingly noble superhero Mysterio. The coup de grace is that the video reveals Peter’s true identity — putting him and his loved ones in immediate danger....

The Avengers, a new game from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal based on the hugely popular Marvel super heroes, has been announced by Square Enix. The game is the first in a new multi-year, multi-game licensing agreement between Square Enix and Marvel Entertainment to develop and publish original games based on Marvel Super Heroes. The Avengers game will feature all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that fans will expect, all tied together with an original story....

AMIt’s really impressive and awesome to watch all these top-tier Hollywood talents to be involved into a big game like Star Citizen. The team behind Star Citizen has shown the first section of extended gameplay for its single-player game, Squadron 42. Squadron 42 is a stand-alone campaign featuring first-person action and some classic cockpit dogfighting. The footage of Squadron 42 have been released couple days ago and aside from Star Wars and WIng Commander actor Mark Hamill, the hourlong video also includes a performance by Liam Cunningham....

As we sat down to play Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at a hands-on preview event, it was clear that developer Respawn Entertainment does not want to hide away from the game’s inspirations. One “cheat sheet” explains how the game’s meditation spots work, which function very similar to bonfires in Dark Souls, and another explains how the map guides players in a way similar to Metroid, highlighting inaccessible areas in red....

Reports have emerged that developer Blizzard Entertainment has cancelled work on a potential Starcraft first person shooter in order to divert resources into future Diablo and Overwatch games. According to sources at Kotaku, Blizzard had been working on the unannounced shooter for two years. Going under the codename ‘Ares’ it had been described by those same sources as similar to ‘Battlefield in the Starcraft universe’ and had even gone so far as to having several prototypes made for the title....

In April 2018 a report confirmed that the next BioShock game was in development within a “top secret” studio under publisher 2K. Since then, little has been said about this prospective BioShock game, which is understandable given the game’s development was only just beginning. Yet BioShock fans have been hungry for more information about the game, especially given BioShock creator Ken Levine shifting to smaller, narrative-driven games.
