The fighting game community has lost one of their own, as Shane “Shizza” Cummings passed away at the age of 33 due to complications relating to a neurological condition. “Shizza” was a beloved figure within the community, best known for his run at Evolution 2010 as a top 8 finalist in Super Street Fighter IV. A staple of the community during the peak of that game’s popularity, Shizza fell out of the spotlight shortly thereafter to attend to family issues, but was diagnosed with the neurological condition in 2014 that would ultimately take his life....

Announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, RPG Time: The Legend of Wright will be releasing Aug. 18 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. That’s right, despite the announcement coming during a Nintendo Direct, the game will be multiplatform. The adorable papercraft style RPG Time: The Legend of Wright was first shown off in 2019. At that time it claimed to be coming in 2020. As that release date didn’t work out, the game went back into development and the art style has greatly changed since....

Far Cry 3, the third incarnation of the open world shooter that later evolved into the Crysis series (Crytek Studios developed the first Far Cry), may be seeing a 2010 release. I’ll preface our Saints Row review by saying that I’m not the biggest fan of Volition’s open-world, action-adventure series. Microsoft has announced that pirate plunder-’em-up Sea of Thieves has hit five million players on PC and Xbox One. The milestone coincides with the release of the new Cursed Sails update, which sees players clashing cannons with creepy skeleton ships. In addition, budding buccaneers can climb aboard the three-player Brigantine ship and take advantage of the new Alliances system. Monolith, the developer behind both Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, is looking for a writer with ‘a love of fantasy and science fiction,’ a job listing on the studio’s official site has revealed (via PCGamesN). The Senior Game Writer will be joining the team to ‘contribute to the development of our next project.’ As well as writing and implementing ‘systemic dialogue and in-game content throughout the game,’ the successful applicant must ‘write a high volume of quality dialogue that is voice-driven, engaging, and tonally consistent with our world....

As part of the Silent Hill: Transmission stream this evening, a new game known simply as Silent Hill f was announced. This marks the first new mainline game for the series in over a decade. There are still very few details about this particular entry to the Silent Hill franchise. We do know its story is by Ryukishi07 (who created the When They Cry visual novel series), its characters and creatures are designed by Kera and its producer is Motoi Okamoto, whose name you may recognise from Nintendo....

That first film was a great start to a series of Sonic films, fairly low key in its story and world building and mostly focused on developing the cast and comedy.
