A new report suggests that Konami has approved the development of two new Silent Hill games. This information seems to originate from the Twitter account AestheticGamer which has accurately reported on insider leaks in the past. They claim that Konami reached out to developers for Silent Hill pitches about two years ago and that they seem to have settled on a couple that they like. The first pitch is for a kind of “soft-reboot” of the franchise, which we imagine could end up looking like the recent God of War in the sense that it tries to reimagine certain Silent Hill elements without completely re-writing the book in terms of lore....

The original creator of military shooter Six Days in Fallujah has been speaking on the controversy surrounding the game—which was dropped by Konami eleven years ago only to announce its return earlier this week—in a new interview. Peter Tamte—who is now the head of the rebooted game’s new publisher Victura—spoke to Polygon and has insisted the game isn’t making a comment on whether the Iraq War the game is based in the midst of was a good or bad idea....

Sony has altered its statement on controller support for PlayStation VR, confirming that some PSVR games will require a PlayStation Move after all. Earlier this week, the platform holder told Eurogamer that “all PlayStation VR titles will support DualShock 4 controllers”. However, it later reversed its statement to The Verge, clarifying that “nearly all PlayStation VR titles will support DualShock 4 controllers”, adding that “there will be a limited number of titles that require Move controllers....

Sony has said that it anticipates selling 56% more PlayStation 5 units this financial year than it did last year. The total console sales for PS5 are now—as of March 31st 2022—at 19.3 million. This is below Sony’s initial estimate of 22.6 million consoles. But the company had adjusted that estimate, in light of continuing material shortages due to Covid-19. Insomniac Games has announced that it is working on a New Game Plus mode for the critically acclaimed Spider-Man. The former Resistance developer confirmed the news in an exchange with a fan on Twitter, where it indicated the mode is nearly complete. Star Wars Battlefront’s multiplayer beta runs at 900p on PlayStation 4 and 720p on Xbox One, according to a pair of online reports. Digital Foundry put the PS4 beta through its paces yesterday, discovering a native 1600×900 resolution and a frame rate that manages to hit its 60fps target “for the most part”. Game Revolution, meanwhile, claims that the Xbox One beta runs at a “blurry 720p”, with one prominent NeoGAF user also criticising it for its “atrocious” image quality....

State of Decay 2 launched a few weeks back and wasn’t in the best of shape, but developer Undead Labs is attempting to polish things up with the release of what promises to be many updates for the zombie dismember-’em-up. Today Capcom revealed a brand new video about its upcoming fighting game Street Fighter 6. This time around, the video doesn’t showcase any gameplay or actual footage, but instead reveals Blanka’s theme music, titled “Zilra Zilra.” Considering that Blanka hails from Brazil, the music certainly plays the part. Street Fighter 6 will include an array of sound options to improve accessibility. Players of the game’s closed beta last weekend explored the options menu and discovered some great features intended to make the game more accessible.
