Bandai Namco Games has lifted the wraps off Soulcalibur VI’s next DLC character, confirming Amy will be joining the roster soon. Soulcalibur fans should have no trouble recognising Amy. She’s Raphael’s adoptive daughter, and first showed up in 2002’s brilliant Soulcalibur II. She’s shared a couple of moves with Raphael in the past, and is apparently the shortest female character in the series. There’s no release date for Amy yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear something....

As we are apparently entering the final days of the current console generation, now is a good time to remind gamers everywhere to not stare so intently at the future that you end up overlooking some of this generation’s best titles. That might sound like a strange warning, but without fail, the final years of a console yield truly great games that fail to attract the attention they deserve. Following the tease launched a few days ago, Spike Chunsoft updated the website of what appears to be a new game codenamed “Hidden Bats.” The cryptic minigame is based on the video at the bottom of the post and two Twitter accounts for two characters that have been kidnapped, Aine Ichirai and Binato Sotobara. Every day they’re going to tweet a clue (the first can be seen below) which will lead to discover a code which will eventually lead to the solution....

Square Enix Japan’s First Development Division is busying away on a new and unannounced intellectual property that will run on the next generation of consoles (via Gematsu). Game Talk spotted that the Square Enix Japan recruitment site described the project as a ‘next-generation action game experience’ that will require ‘an international team of creators from all over the world.’ It will go ‘beyond the framework of existing action games’ to deliver a unique experience from the esteemed First Development Division....

Aspyr has confirmed it’ll fix a game-breaking bug in its recent Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 port on Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch version of the classic RPG released earlier this month. However, it soon came to light that the game can be impossible to complete, thanks to a bug. As Kotaku notes, users have found the game crashing following the aptly-named Basilisk Crash cutscene after landing on Onderon....

The PlayStation VR exclusive X-Wing VR Mission for Star Wars Battlefront is being developed by racing game experts Criterion Games and will be free to all Battlefront owners on PS4. “Piloting an X-Wing is an aspect of the Star Wars universe many of us have dreamed of experiencing,” explains James Svensson, producer, Criterion Games. “It’s something from the films we remember watching with awe, and even re-enacted throughout our lives....

Publisher Starbreeze Studios announced today that it has filed for reconstruction with the Stockholm District Court, with the company’s CEO, Bob Andersson, leaving his position with the Swedish firm. The company is hoping the move will help it get back on track, and has said it will continue to pay staff wages and developing games as per the norm. Just last week, the studio revealed that sales of its latest project, Overkill’s The Walking Dead, were below internal expectations....

Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones is coming to Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PS Vita and PC in early April, Curve Digital has announced. Well, it’s finally happened: one of the worst-kept gaming secrets of the year is confirmed. Earlier today, Rockstar Games announced remasters of the first three 3D Grand Theft Auto games. They’re coming complete in the elaborately named Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition. The three games will have “across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements.” And it’ll be out later this year. The developers at Rovio Mobile look to be very busy in 2011. Just as we reported that Rovio Mobile announced new Valentine’s Day levels for Angry Birds Seasons, Rovio Mobile has made public that it will release an Angry Birds tie-in game for 20th Century Fox’s upcoming animated film, Rio, called Angry Birds Rio. The film, made by the creators of the successful Ice Age franchise, focuses on Blu, a domesticated Macaw living in Minnesota with his owner, Linda....

It looks like inFamous 2 may be added to the lineup of PlayStation titles slated to support Sony’s new motion controller, the PlayStation Move. On the main site for Move there’s a section at the bottom displaying ‘PlayStation Move Featured’ games. inFamous 2 was visible in this section for a short period of time. Apple TV+ began with five series. Now all five of those series have received a second season order with the nascent streaming service confirming that Servant season 2 is on the way.
