Today Square Enix posted a transcript of the latest financial results meeting hosted in Tokyo, and it included CEO Yosuke Matsuda’s comments on the performance of Final Fantasy XIV. Matsuda-san mentions that the company is “extremely pleased” with the performance of Final Fantasy XIV during the past fiscal year, and expects a “considerable” contribution to earnings during the current fiscal year that will end in March 2023 as well. This is certainly not too surprising considering that Final Fantasy XIV has become the most profitable game in the Final Fantasy franchise, albeit it’d be interesting to know how much the extra sales of “optional items” on the official online store contribute to said profitability....

As Disney+ continues to stream its first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, there has been an open flow of behind the scenes tidbits – from the eye-wateringly good concept art for each episode that appears during the credits to interviews with the series’ carefully-selected directors. Bryce Dallas Howard directed the fourth episode of the series, “Sanctuary,” which sees the titular bounty hunter meet a group of peaceful villagers in full crisis mode....

PS4 gameplay footage of Star Wars Battlefront revealed at E3 last month ran at 900p, according to a report by Digital Foundry. The site states that the footage offers a “genuine, practical look at console gameplay in motion,” but follows up by saying that “from an early pixel-count we see the game matches the basic framebuffer setup of Battlefield 4 and Hardline: the evidence suggesting this PS4 build runs at a native 1600×900 with a pass of post-process anti-aliasing....

Two of my favorite Star Wars games from the past include Battlefront (2004), which is an all-time classic, and The Force Unleashed, which is an undervalued masterpiece. Hit football driving game Rocket League is coming to Xbox One in February 2016, Psyonix has announced. The Xbox One version will ship with all of the content found in the PS4 and PC versions, plus two exclusive new cars, including Gears of War’s Armadillo APC and an alternate version of Halo’s Warthog. Just when you thought the battle royale wars were over, it appears that another game is headed our way set in the universe of Titanfall.
