This Shameless review contains spoilers. Shameless Season 10 Episode 9 The title of this Shameless episode, “O Captain, My Captain” is in reference to Carl and his unruly police recruits, but it’s largely applicable to most of the characters within this episode. Many characters are in positions of leadership or steering some sort of metaphorical boat as major hurdles lie ahead. However, much like being the captain on some giant luxury cruiser, this episode of Shameless moves at a very slow pace....

Black Friday is an exciting day of the year for bargain hunters, but the event has been criticized for creating a real danger for holiday shoppers. There have been reports over the years of people being injured on Black Friday, and while this latest incident didn’t see anyone get hurt, it still resulted in gunshots being fired at Target by five people who were allegedly stealing video games from the store....

Considering the 2007 merger between Vivendi Games and Activision (that formed Activision Blizzard) was worth somewhere around 18 billion, that’s quite a missed opportunity. And even that 7 million dollar price tag was laughable to Kotick back then, as he thought it was “insane” that anyone would spend that for Blizzard, saying “they have Warcraft but what else do they have?...

A first-person life simulation, Slime Rancher 2 is a direct sequel to its predecessor Slime Rancher. The game is filled with adventure as you explore the new location known as Rainbow Island. As Beatrix LeBeau, the main protagonist in the first installation of this series, you will have to collect, raise, feed, and breed slimes. While Rainbow island has a lot of slimes and adventures on its own, there is always room for adventures on other islands....

In the last few years, representations of disabilities in video games have been on the rise. However, with representations of deafness, everything is usually represented with the common stereotypes: characters are always shown using American Sign Language and are unable to hear at all. So far, we’ve not really had a game that spotlights a main character with deafness - and no, we don’t want to talk about the abysmal The Quiet Man....

Coming out of the Microsoft Press Conference at E3 2010 this year, there was no doubt that Microsoft was targeting the fabled ‘casual gamer’ with its new motion-sensing peripheral, Kinect. While some gamers may not have been surprised by this direction (whoever thought Project Milo would turn into a ‘hardcore’ title?), it appears that Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, was taken aback. As we’ve posted before, Microsoft is clearly positioning Kinect to focus on more casual titles....

Atlus released another of its daily trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, focusing on one of the demons that will be featured in the game. This time the trailer reveals Loa, a demon that has been part of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise since the very beginning and also appeared in the recent Shin Megami Tensei V. Like most daily trailers, we also get the daily horoscope, which sees Cancer the top of the fortune ranking and Virgo at the bottom....

Spiritfarer‘s developer, Thunder Lotus Games, is celebrating a milestone achievement by giving back to its fans. The sandbox action game reached 500,000 sales this week, making Spiritfarer Thunder Lotus’s most successful title. In honor of the news, the studio released its Lily Update with a new spirit and a co-op fishing mode. According to the press release, the Spiritfarer Lily Update is the first of three planned for 2021. The update introduces Stella’s sister, Lily the Butterfly Spirit....

News over the upcoming hack and slash Babylon’s Fall has trickled in at a steady rate, and Square Enix is prepared to show the world even more with an upcoming livestream. This livestream will feature tons of brand new information, and showcase new gameplay for players to hype themselves over. The developers have already stated their intent to expand on the combat mechanics of Nier: Automata and multiplayer, so this trailer should give some insight into that....

Cosmos Rings, a new RPG from Square Enix designed for the Apple Watch, will launch worldwide this summer, reports Siliconera. Square Enix says Cosmos Rings is the world’s first Apple Watch-exclusive RPG. The game will send players messages depending on their daily steps count, creating an experience not possible on other devices, says Square Enix. Chaos Rings producer Takehiro Ando is behind the new title, with key visuals by Yusuke Naora, who was an art director on the likes of Final Fantasy VII, VIII, X and XV....

In a recent blog post, Square Enix has announced that the company’s Japanese development team and other staff members will not be visiting PAX East this year. This decision was reportedly made due to the spread of the Wuhan Coronavirus that is currently spreading through Southeast Asia, and has already caused other companies like PlayStation to skip PAX. While Square Enix will still have a presence at the convention, it will only be the American team that will be making an appearance....

The PC version of the new Star Trek Bridge Crew expansion called The Next Generation is out today on PSVR but the PC version is still a way off. PC gamers won’t get their hands on it until 24 July for some reason. Despite the fact there’s still over a month until it arrives on the PC, a launch trailer has been released to satisfy the console crowd. If you own the game then this will be a no-brainer purchase with the addition of the NCC-1701-D ship that the mighty Picard captained....

It’s one thing to be mildly irked by the latest instalment in your favourite movie franchise. It’s quite another to be so incensed that you’re willing to scrape millions of dollars together and remake the entire thing from scratch. Incredibly, this is exactly what a “team of producers” have pledged to do over on Twitter. On the 20th June, a tweet went out from an account Remake The Last Jedi: “Our team of producers is offering to cover the budget for a remake of The Last Jedi in order to save Star Wars....

The Rise of Skywalker blasts into theaters on Dec. 20. The final Rise of Skywalker trailer might be our last look at what may be the final Star Wars movie directly related to the beloved Original Trilogy storyline. The Lucasfilm team has said Episode IX will conclude the story that began in The Phantom Menace. While there are other Star Wars movies and TV shows on the horizon (The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and Game of Thrones’ David Benioff and DB Weiss are slated to be working in the galaxy far, far away), The Rise of Skywalker wraps up the story Anakin Skywalker and Emperor Palpatine began....

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order may be the most important Star Wars game publisher Electronic Arts has ever released. After publishing an MMORPG and two multiplayer shooters, EA is finally releasing what many fans have been asking for since Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012 and disbanded LucasArts’ development division: a story-focused, single-player Star Wars game. Traditionally, a single-player Star Wars game would be par for the course for a franchise that has found some of its biggest successes with such experiences (Knights Of The Old Republic, Rogue Squadron, the Jedi Knight series), but it’s taken EA five years to get one on its slate....

If you haven’t heard yet, Stardew Valley recently released update 1.4, and it’s huge. The update overhauled tons of little quality of life changes and added some major content to the game. This even included more heart events with your favorite partners and a way to finally free the dog from his house. If that’s not good enough, then there are new monsters to battle, hairstyles to use, and even a special farming tool to find....

A new report has shed light behind the scenes of State of Decay 3, the upcoming open world zombie game from the Undead Labs. Details published by Kotaku include allegations of sexism and mismanagement at the Microsoft-owned studio, and paint a picture of a game project which is still struggling to get off the ground years after its official reveal. State of Decay 3 began pre-production in late 2018, though developers at Undead Labs were reportedly poorly-managed and the project took several team re-organisations to get off the ground....

Greedfall developer Spiders has released a new gameplay trailer of their next project, French-Revolution-with-robots action-adventure Steelrising. Shown off during last night’s Nacon Connect, the new footage shows off some combat against King Louis XVI’s automated army in the alt-history adventure. You’ll be playing as Aegis, bodyguard to Marie Antoinette, and you also happen to be an automaton yourself. The game was first revealed last summer, and promises to let you explore the burning streets of Paris as you complete sidequests to help you upgrade yourself with new abilities and weapons as you confront your clockwork foes....

The first DLC for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin was unveiled earlier today. Well, at first it was a bizarre rick roll, but we did get an actual trailer afterward. Players that loved the combat of the base game might find a lot to like here. Trials of the Dragon King will feature new jobs, weapons, and accessories, in addition to new areas to explore and a new storyline to play through....
