Although Skyrim may have done away with the beloved custom spell creation system of previous games in the series, there are still plenty of prefabricated magic for players to add to their arcane arsenal. And although they aren’t quite as numerous, Skyrim also introduced “Shouts,” which are basically snippets of dragon language that have profound magical effects when uttered (or shouted, rather) by the Dragonborn. Together, they make for a pretty lengthy list of sorcerous powers for players to hunt down....

Slay the Spire has finally been graced with patch 2.0 and it brings a lot of new stuff to the game. Bandai Namco Games has announced a new addition to the SoulCalibur VI roster, with Tira joining the upcoming fighting game sequel as a DLC character. Debuting in SoulCalibur III, Tira, who is known as the Bird of Death, will be available to snap up as part of the SoulCalibur VI Season Pass or as standalone DLC. She wields a pretty nasty Ring Blade known as Eiserne Drossel, and wonders the earth generally pissed off while slaughtering anyone who gets in her way....

Nintendo has announced a big seasonal update for Switch exclusive Splatoon 3, which is set to land on 1st December. Chill Season will introduce fresh weapons and stages to the already-bursting game, as well as two highly-anticipated game modes. Much of today’s trailer is taken up by something titled Big Run, which is an event mode version of the series’ Salmon Run format. Star Ocean: The Divine Force on PS5 It’s the 25th anniversary of the Star Ocean series, though that’s purely for the Japanese release. The first game wasn’t actually localized until 2008 for the PSP. Nonetheless, Star Ocean: The Divine Force serves as a history lesson while guiding the series forward with a new installment that has much wider consequences than any Star Ocean before. It would also be easy to deride the story offered in The Divine Force as standard Star Ocean fare, but I think that it mostly works on an “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it” level....

WWE knew it had a problem. Roman Reigns was going to win the Universal Championship last night at SummerSlam — it has been preordained for months — and the older, largely male fanbase that traveled to the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn was going to mercilessly boo Reigns out of the building. Sam Stone has had a rough go in regards to sequels.
