Aspyr has announced they’re bringing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords to the Nintendo Switch next month. The Star Wars remaster experts are bringing the RPG sequel to Nintendo’s system just over six months after they gave a similar treatment to the first game. Just like that one, this new version will include HD cinematics, textures and UI to bring it up to date with the modern screen of the Switch....

So far, every single Star Wars movie released on the big screen has been set during the Skywalker Saga, a 60-ish-year period of civil wars, empires, rebellions, and patricide. Star Wars Battlefront 2 got off to somewhat of a rocky start with its controversial lootbox mechanics that were disdained by many. However, the game has since gone on to receive additional content from EA and DICE to at least partially atone, though none of this additional content involves the recent explicit Princess Leia mod currently available online. Two years after it’s release and two weeks ahead of the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which just received a launch trailer, Star Wars Battlefront 2 has received a naked Leia mod that likely should have been released a while ago given the character’s appeal to male Star Wars fans....

Star Wars Battlefront’s first premium expansion pack ‘Outer Rim’ will release to Season Pass holders next Tuesday, March 22, EA has confirmed. The DLC will be available to everybody else two weeks later, presumably on Tuesday, April 5. A standalone price has yet to be announced. Outer Rim introduces four brand new maps set on Sullust and Tatooine, a new Extraction mode that tasks players with extracting resources to their transport ship before time expires, additional weapons and Star Cards, plus two new heroes: Greedo and Nien Nunb....

Startopia is a space-set city management simulator very passionately beloved by a small group of people. It released way back in 2001 and received a lot of praise from critics, but it surprisingly sold very poorly. Its price dropped rather quickly after it released. In these recent hours, Sony has announced that it will host another State of Play edition the day after tomorrow. So this Thursday, the Japanese company will present new information on the time loop shooter Deathloop as well as various indies and third-party games. Strategy shooter spin-off of the popular Steamworld Dig series Steamworld Heist is set to make its way to the Nintendo Switch before the end of the year, developer Image & Form Games has announced today. Rather than the platforming action of the main series, Steamworld Heist sees you take the role of robot pirate hero Piper Faraday looting and pillaging procedurally generated spaceships via tactical turn based action, with touch controls as well as all the previously released DLC from other platforms added to this Switch version....

According to a report on Thurrott, Microsoft is planning on releasing a new version of the Xbox One S that will not feature a disc drive. The article claims that the new console will be released in spring 2019, and will be priced at under $200. Furthermore, consumers will able to trade in their physical media in exchange for a digital version at Microsoft Stores. While it’s not based on the Xbox One X, the new model will feature 4K and HDR colour support, and due to it not featuring a disc drive saves heavily on production costs....

There’s been more fuel to the fire that Chinese studio Virtuos may be working on a remake of Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. As reported by VGC, a listing has been spotted on the LinkedIn profile of the studio’s lead programmer Zhiyang Li. He refrains from mentioning MGS 3 specifically. However, he mentions he’s worked on an “unannounced 3A Action Adventure game remake”. According to the listing, Li worked on this mysterious project for nine months, beginning as early as October 2018....

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s development may encounter issues owing to the novel coronavirus pandemic (via Nintendo Life). Speaking in his regular column for Famitsu, director Masahiro Sakurai expressed his concerns that work on the incredibly popular fighting game may be put on hold. “Restrictions are also being put on business travel. It’s particularly difficult to meet with partners who are faraway. For example, Nintendo is headquartered in Kyoto, right? In this regard, it’s quite difficult for us to visit other companies,” he explained....

Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki has said that the upcoming Shenmue III will feature an open ending, potentially leaving the door open for another chapter in the revenge-driven saga down the line. The 2018 Game Awards occurred on the same day that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released (depending on where you are in the world), and one of the final reveals of the evening was a trailer for the first paid DLC character in Ultimate: Joker from Persona 5.
