It’s been more than a year since Colin Trevorrow was replaced as the director of Star Wars Episode IX. While the director and Lucasfilm have remained quiet about the reason behind Trevorrow’s departure, a new report from the Wall Street Journal cites the quality of Trevorrow and co-writer Jack Thorne’s first draft of the script as the reason for the change. According to WSJ, both Trevorrow and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy were unhappy with the draft....

Good news for lightsaber enthusiasts and intergalactic green thumbs. Respawn Entertainment released a patch yesterday with a few fixes for its hit Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The changes aren’t numerous, but they are important because they affect combat, one of the core gameplay mechanics. Cal’s combat calibrations According to patch notes from the developers, the patch tries to make Cal more responsive during combat. It addresses stagger reactions, kicks, flybacks, staff parries, and sprint attacks....

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is EA and Respawn Entertainment’s latest addition to the Star Wars universe, and one of the most important aspects of world building (or galaxy building) is the characters that fill it. To showcase the characters in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, EA has released a new video staring BD-1, the player character Cal Kestis’ little droid buddy who will accompany the player on their quest throughout the galaxy....

It was an absolutely massive day for Nintendo Switch announcements, with today’s Nintendo Direct offering up a ton of awesome new ports and other news. However, one of the weirdest announcements to come out of the Direct, and arguably one of the coolest, is that Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is headed to the Nintendo Switch - and fans will be able to play it soon. Jedi Knight II will be headed to the Switch on September 24th this year, meaning fans have just a few weeks to wait before they can run around slicing up Storm Troopers as Kyle Katarn....

Developer ConcernedApe (that’s an awesome name for a dev, by the way) has confirmed that the multiplayer update for Stardew Valley will drop on August 1. The feature has been a long time coming and has been doing the rounds in beta form for months now, although it won’t arrive on PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One versions until a later date. Oh, and PlayStation Vita won’t receive the update at all, which is a bit of a shame since it only came out a few months ago on Sony’s handheld....

Immortality and Her Story developer Sam Barlow has said he was asked by Tesla to put his game in a car for the exposure. Last week, Tesla owner Elon Musk bought Twitter and now, as The Verge reported, the social media platform plans to charge users $20 each month for verification. Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo will release in October on PS4, Xbox One and PC, a new advert for the game has revealed. The release window was confirmed on the cover ad of this week’s MCV, alongside news that the game would offer players the chance to “play as Sebastien Loeb and live the best moments of his career”. The game will also be on show at next week’s E3. So far, publisher PQube has only formally announced an autumn release date....

Developer Rebellion’s next installment in its Sniper Elite franchise was revealed last December. At that point, all we knew is that it was planned for sometime in 2022. But now thanks to the new release date trailer, we know exactly when Sniper Elite 5 is coming. The cinematic shooter will launch on PC via Steam on May 26. It is already available for pre-purchase for those that are interested. The regular edition costs $49....

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 will now launch three weeks later than planned, arriving in stores on April 25 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, CI Games has announced. The decision to delay the launch comes after internal discussions with the development team, who believed more time was needed to complete work based on feedback obtained during the beta. “We’ve worked tirelessly creating a whole new Sniper Ghost Warrior experience set in an ambitiously crafted open world new to the series,” said said Marek Tyminski, CEO of CI Games....

It has been announced that 2019’s excellent Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be getting a full Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 release later this year. The news came from the official Star Wars website during the reveal of the space saga’s annual Star Wars Day celebrations on May 4.
