Rare has announced that ‘Season One’ of Sea of Thieves will commence next Thursday in a tweet posted to the game’s official account. The PlayStation VR2 will be easier for developers to port the games onto, Sony has said. The comments were made by Yasuo Takahashi and Kenjo Akiyama, two senior directors at Sony Interative Entertainment, at an event during Computer Entertainment Developers Conference (CEDEC) 2022. One obvious, major effect of making an episode of television this way is that, by necessity, the premise is decided upon very quickly and doesn’t have a chance to go through many revisions. With an episode like “A Boy and a Priest,” I wonder if a different series, with a longer production schedule, wouldn’t have heavily revised the premise on which the entire episode is based or, possibly, chucked it out altogether....

According to numbers released by NPD, the impact of Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot boxes has significantly hit sales numbers. NPD says it has been a “disappointing month for Electronic Arts” with research firm estimating sales of around 882,000 units for Star Wars Battlefront 2. It’s biggest rival Call of Duty: WWII has sold 4.4 million units but released two weeks earlier. Despite the lower than expected sales, analysts Wedbush says they expect sales to “rebound” this month thanks to the release of the Last Jedi film and holiday gifts....
