CBS announced today that it has given a series commitment to Clarice, a series that will catch up with Clarice Starling shortly after the events of The Silence of the Lambs....
Crea-ture Studios, the developer behind skateboarding sim Session, provides fans with a positive update about the Xbox One version of the game. After Session was confirmed for Xbox One back at E3 2018, fans had expected to play it by the end of 2019 but crea-ture Studios ended up delaying the game. In a post on Session’s Steam page, crea-ture Studios confirmed that it is now working with a local developer called iLLOGIKA on the Xbox One version of the game....
Developer UmaikiGames has released Skellboy on both the Nintendo Switch and Steam, a hack and slash action adventure that features a distinct, cubic-themed art style and great music that flares up nostalgia of older consoles. While the game does feature some enjoyable aspects, Skellboy ultimately suffers from some design choices and technical issues that keep it from being great, at least on the Nintendo Switch. UK developer Rebellion has announced that virtual reality spin-off Sniper Elite VR will launch on VR platforms including PlayStation VR, Steam VR and Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift next month. First revealed back in September of last year, this VR-specific entry in the shooter series sees you step into the boots of an Italian partisan fighting fascists in World War II, and will be taking them out across 18 replayable missions with historically accruate weapons that include SMGs, pistols, shotguns, explosives and, of course, sniper rifles to name a few....
Heroes of Newerth is a game that has most likely gone unnoticed for the duration of its premiere as a beta-only title revealed some time in the Summer of 2009. It was officially released for a reasonably low price of thirty dollars on May 12, 2010 but it is not available in stores, so to purchase this game you must go directly to the site and buy it there. I got my hands on the game in October and have been a supporter of the unique qualities of the game....
Excellent news for Sonic audiophiles everywhere, as record company Brave Wave have announced in a press release that they’re collaborating with Sega to bring the classic Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 soundtracks to vinyl for the first time. Which should go nicely with that Sonic Mania vinyl soundtrack from earlier this year. Both games will get two LP records to themselves, with the first pressing even coming in thematically correct colours – blue and white for Sonic Adventure and blue and red for Sonic Adventure 2....
Netflix has released a new trailer for the forthcoming Sonic Prime, revealing its multiverse storyline. Back in September, the first teaser trailer showed Sonic racing against Shadow in the Green Hill Zone. Now, though, it seems Sonic will be travelling across a shattered multiverse - check it out in the trailer below. Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed the date and time of their big E3 media briefing in Los Angeles, via press invites sent out by SIE. On Monday, June 12, at 18:00 PT/21:00 ET in the States, you’ll be able to check out what Sony is bringing to the party. Those in the UK have to stay awake until 2 o’ clock in the morning on June 13 to check out Shawn Layden walking back and forth on The Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall stage....
There’s a mod for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC that lets you play as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It seems that the Turtle brothers aren’t satisfied with their own success with Shredder’s Revenge have made their way into Spider-Man’s territory. Created by SpaceDasher, the mod lets you choose between Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello or Michelangelo to swing around as. Or maybe that should be swim around as? The mod looks incredible....
Developer Banzai Games and publisher Nekki have just released an official reveal trailer for Spine, and it’s completely cinematic. So, don’t expect any insight into what the gameplay will be like. However, the game looks like fast-paced ability-fuel, and I cannot wait to see more. Spine is set in a cyberpunk world and will have you battling in a team of three against another team of three. Although, that could change because we know so little about the game right now....
Afterlife adventure Spiritfarer has received the first of three planned major updates today, with developer Thunder Lotus announcing that the first Lily Update is available in the game now. The update’s main addition is new butterfly spirit Lily, who’s Stella’s younger sister and affords the ability to navigate your ship during the nighttime. However, it should be noted that she’ll only appear towards the end of the game. Other new features in this update include the ability to Fish in co-op, a new atmosphere for Buck’s event and a new co-op controller assignment screen, as well as some quality of life improvements....
Developer Thunder Lotus has announced that its afterlife spirit management title Spiritfarer will be receiving three new content updates in 2021. As detailed with a roadmap on the studio’s blog, all three updates will be completely free of charge and include four new spirits you’ll have to help on their way. The first update in Spring will bring Lily, who’s said to be Stella’s younger sister and bring more content for her story too....
Square Enix is considering more HD-2D remakes of its SNES games. The HD-2D style refers to the mix of HD 3D backdrops and pixel art, popularised by Octopath Traveller and the forthcoming Triangle Strategy. As reported by Famitsu (thanks VGC), the developers of Triangle Strategy confirmed on a Square Enix radio show that president Yosuka Matsuda wants SNES games remade in the art style. Live A Live is already planned for such a remake, as announced at Nintendo’s recent Direct presentation - a game that has until now only been released in Japan....
Square Enix has sold off its western studios and over 50 intellectual properties to Embracer Group for just $300m. The sale, which is set to go through by September this year, means Embracer owns Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal, as well as IPs including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief and Legacy of Kain. That amounts to around 1100 employees. As already announced, a new Tomb Raider is in development at Crystal Dynamics, built on Unreal Engine 5....
A job posting online has just revealed that the First Development Division of Square Enix is taking initial steps toward developing an action game for the next generation of consoles. The yet-to-be-named title will be a new, original IP. The job posting was spotted on the official Japanese-language Square Enix website by the Japanese video game website Games Talk, and then translated into English and shared by Gematsu. Details in the posting are sparse—surely by design—but nonetheless reveal some notable details about the upcoming project....
Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games released a new video focusing on upcoming features for the growing space simulator. Specifically, the video stars Jonny Jacevicuius, Johan Holmér, and Chris Parry as they talk about upcoming features being worked on by the Actor Feature Team, which is basically the development team that works on what our characters can do. The first gameplay footage of Star Wars Battlefront has gone live ahead of its reveal at EA’s E3 press conference. The 5-minute video shows a Walker Assault battle on Hoth and is said to have been captured directly from a PS4. As well as infantry-based combat, the footage also shows combat from an AT-AT and TIE Fighter. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader can also be seen at the end of the video....

Available via Steam for less than £2, it adapts familiar Resi weaponary and health items and tasks you with healing up and restocking a hero over various levels. Think of it as a window into Resi 4’s safe rooms, translated into 40 puzzle scenarios of escalating difficulty, where Leon might pause for a few minutes to snort some herbs and shuffle around his guns to squeeze in a few more shotgun shells....
