Developers still hard at work on Google Stadia projects have been expressing their shock and frustration at the cloud gaming service’s impending shutdown. Google’s announcement yesterday that it would shutter Stadia completely in January 2023 came as a complete surprise, all have said - even those with upcoming projects set to arrive in November. What will happen to those games is now unclear, as Google has already moved to close the Stadia store - making new releases unsellable....

Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games released two new videos about the growing space simulator focusing on upcoming starships. The ships are showcased in the second part of the video including the Drake Corsair, the Drake Vulture, the Banu Merchantman, the RSI Scorpius, and the MISC Hull-C. The first part of the video focuses on introducing a member of the Star Citizen community who went on to work at CIG, making some of the videos and trailers for the game....

Star Citizen’s single-player spaceflight companion ‘Squadron 42’ is to feature an impressive cast led by Gary Oldman and Mark Hamill, Cloud Imperium Games has announced. In the game players take on the role of a rookie UEE Navy combat pilot in a cinematic adventure set in the Star Citizen universe. Players will serve aboard a massive Navy capital ship interacting and building relationships with a living, breathing crew, brought to life through performance capture from by actors including Gary Oldman, Mark Hamill, Mark Strong, Sophie Wu, Gillian Anderson and Andy Serkis....

Rocket League is about to enter its ninth competitive season. As always, the change of seasons will be bringing a brand new update which includes a lot of new content. Here’s the rundown. PlayStation VR’s release date announcement overnight has led to a huge rise in sales for its required camera accessory. Sony announced a £349 price for PlayStation VR last night, though this price doesn’t include the required PlayStation Camera or any optional Move controllers – PS4’s DualShock is good enough for a VR experience. Similarly, the PS VR compatible Move Controller has seen its sales rise by 305 per cent, and a PS4 Camera Stand is also up by 243 per cent....

According to a job listing (via PST) for a project assistant, the new title will take the form of an action-RPG, although that’s literally all we know at this point. Update: Many of Shenmue 3‘s Kickstarter backers were upset about the news that the PC version of the game would only be released via the Epic Games Store.
