The official Nintendo store has offers on a bunch of ‘em, including the ever-popular Split Pad Pro, though at the time of writing it’s sold out there. Darewise Entertainment has revealed an upcoming sci-fi MMO which is currently codenamed ‘Project C‘. The game is being created by Thief designer Randy Smith and Dishonored and Half-Life 2 art director Viktor Antonov. The game is promising “genuine innovation in game design with emphasis on emergent memorable gameplay moments” and will be continuously updated with new chapters to progress the game’s story. Player choices will also create permanent changes and it will come with a fully simulated ecosystem of creatures and resources....

Microsoft has polished off some juicy stats for the recent Sea of Thieves closed beta, confirming a not-too-shabby 332,052 players took part in the swashbuckling simulator teaser. It’s certainly a good start for the Big M, considering this is one of its major exclusives for this year. Budding pirates spent around 2,000,000 hours sailing the seas during the beta, which also proved a big hit on Twitch and Mixer, reaching the top spot in terms of live viewers....

This evening SEGA teased an announcement scheduled for 16 January on their Twitter account and nobody is exactly sure what it could be for. However, Internet super-sleuths may have figured it out and it could be a new Theme Hospital sim. The tweet contained an image of a lightbulb and a date as seen below. Further poking around reveals a tweet from Two Point Studios who signed to SEGA last March....

Turn 10 Studios must be in a really good mood because there’s been a steady release of new free content for Forza Motorsport 7 over the last few months. Now, the team is adding in a collection of seven new cars, but they’re not what most Motorsport fans would expect to be driving around the track — because these seven new vehicles are all from Hot Wheels. In celebration of the Hot Wheels franchise’s 50th anniversary, Team 10 Studios has once again teamed up with Mattel (the parent company of Hot Wheels) for another partnership....

In case you missed it, people want to see Shaggy in Mortal Kombat 11. Yes, that Shaggy; Scooby-Doo’s sandwich-loving, cowardly best mate and fellow member of Mystery Incorporated. No the artist Shaggy, in case you wondered. It wasn’t him. While Mortal Kombat is no stranger to adding guest characters to its roster over the past few years (even Kratos turned up in 2011’s eponymous series reboot), NetherRealm has confirmed that Shaggy (unsurprisingly, even though I’d love to see it happen) won’t be appearing in MK11....

Most the upcoming fighters in the first Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat 11 were revealed today. Hold on to your butts, because this is going to be quite the ride. We already knew that Shang Tsung was going to be first out the gate. Finally, we’ve seen what the sorcerer is capable of, and it’s impressive. However, five other fighters are also coming along in the first major DLC. Series veterans Nightwolf and Sindel are joining Shang Tsung, along with the game’s first guest character, Spawn....

Sony has finally made Remote Play available to iPhone customers today with PlayStation 4 update 6.50. It’s only 422MB in size, so be sure to grab it asap. The feature comes four years after the hardware giant rolled out Remote Play for its Xperia Z3 smartphones, and allows you to enjoy the service on your iPhone and iPad. New gameplay of Nier Reincarnation has been revealed, and it’s very Nier-y (via Eurogamer). “At first glance, it doesn’t look like a smartphone title. That’s how much heart we’re putting into making this game. Almost as if we want it to be multiplatform,” said producer Yosuke Saito, and described Reincarnation as a “strangely startling type of game.” In this unveiling, the player protagonist runs with the touch controls directing their movement....

Despite being a clunky cylinder of machine parts, R2-D2 rolled his way into our hearts with only a few beeps and boops. He was a quirky little droid that seemed to know his way around the universe of Star Wars better than Luke Skywalker did, so it’s no wonder that R2-D2 (also known as Artoo) became one of the most recognizable stars of the films.
