The biggest MMORPG in the world is now playable. You have waited patiently for months, looking forward to questing and killing helpless rabbits with friends. Finally, the time has arrived. You enter your account name and password before slamming down hard on that big, red “Login” button. But instead of rabbits, you’re greeted with a wave of disappointment. “Realm is Full…Estimated Time: 267 min.” No, it’s not 2004. The servers for World of Warcraft Classic are live, but many players are stuck in line — likely for hours....

When gamers eventually look back on the year 2011, particularly PlayStation gamers, the hacking of the PlayStation Network will no doubt be one of the memories at the forefront of their minds. Over the past week and a half, the PSN outage has gone from being a minor inconvenience for gamers to a world-wide news story. Regardless of who the perpetrators were, whether they were indeed member of Anonymous or not, Sony has been in hot water as of late, issuing a formal apology and insurance plan, and promising to compensate affected gamers....

Today Atlus released a new gallery of screenshots, artwork, and details of its upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2. We take a look at Ash, a devil summoner belonging to the Phantom Society. While she appears cold, she’s actually the emotional and romantic type. She used to be Saizo’s lover, but for some reason, it ended in tragedy as she helped to kill him. Apparently, she did not mean it, but one can’t escape their fate as a devil summoner....

Insomniac Games has given us the first look at the upgraded Spider-Man Remastered running on the PlayStation 5, and alongside all the fancy new graphical bells and whistles revealed that Peter Parker himself has had a makeover with a brand new, younger face. In a post on the PlayStation blog, community director James Stevenson talked about how the remaster is more than just a spit and polish, talking up the game’s new models, materials and ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows as well as the character models getting higher fidelity shaders and yes, even individual strands of hair....

Spider-Man Remastered, the PC release of Sony’s PS5 game, will be playable on the Steam Deck. Insomniac confirmed the news in a tweet, noting the game is Steam Deck verified. It means you can swing through New York City on the go… in actual New York City if you want. Watch on YouTube Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered - PC features trailer. Bend Studio - whose game Days Gone is also playable on the handheld - replied to the tweet with “welcome to the club”....

After three years, Splash Damage is ending all development for its class-based, online shooter Dirty Bomb. According to the blog posted at its official website, the team cites financial reasons for the decision. “We’re sorry for the recent radio silence,” wrote Splash Damage. “You deserve better and we haven’t been there for you. It has been a challenging couple of months full of sensitive decisions that we had to make regarding the future of Dirty Bomb....

Square Enix have announced Life is Strange, a digitally-distributed narrative-driven episodic adventure. How bizarre. Life is Strange is being developed by DONTNOD of Remember Me fame, if you remember that, and has senior student Max Caulfield heading back to the lovely Oregon town of Arcadia Bay after five years, in an attempt to uncover the truth behind a friend’s mysterious disappearance. She’s not alone, though. Not only is she assisted by her old friend Chloe (the blue-haired one), but Max rapidly discovers that she has the ability to rewind time, which is a hell of a thing if you’re investigating a mysterious disappearance....

Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s two most memorable moments involve incredible uses of the Force: Luke projecting himself across the galaxy to face the entire First Order on Crait, and Leia’s ability to shield herself from the vaccuum of space and float back to her capital ship. While it makes perfect sense that Luke would have become a master of the Force in the 30 years since Return of the Jedi, the movie doesn’t really delve into how Leia learned her own Force abilities....

Stardew Valley developer ConcernedApe has revealed that the game’s much-anticipated multiplayer update is now live and kicking. You’ll now be able to team up with a mate for some gardening action, although the update extends beyond just adding co-op; ConcernedApe confirmed that a heap of new content is up for grabs too, including all-new items and events. Stardew Valley’s new co-op mode supports two-four players, and things function pretty much as you’d expect only you can now get a helping hand to achieve your goals....

Steam functionality such as sending friend invites, voting in Greenlight, gaining new Steam Profile levels and submitting content to Steam Workshop are now locked behind a $5 spend wall in an effort to combat spamming and phishing, Valve has announced. “We’ve chosen to limit access to these features as a means of protecting our customers from those who abuse Steam for purposes such as spamming and phishing,” the company explained....

Square Enix has dropped a new demo for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin ahead of the game’s release next week. The demo allows players a taste of the early part of the game, including Pravoka Seagrot and the Western Keep. They’ll also be able to try out several jobs that weren’t available in the game’s previous demo. Multiplayer’s also available in the demo for up to three players, and progress carries over to the full game....

Brock Lesnar is so anti-WWE, and he’s so out of control, that he attacked his longtime friend and confidant, Paul Heyman, on last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw. And … WWE expects that will be enough for you to boo him at SummerSlam. The wishful thinking aside, the Brock Lesnar segments on Raw this past Monday were very well produced and extremely well written. The story they’re telling is that Lesnar hates WWE....

Sega may no longer be the console-making powerhouse it once was, but that doesn’t mean it can’t look back at its 90s glory days from time to time. We’ve seen compilations of Mega Drive games before, including a disc of old games for the PlayStation 3 and a portable version for the PSP. Now, though, Sega’s bringing some of the console’s biggest games to the current generation of consoles. Sega Europe announced in a tweet earlier today that the launch of the Sega Mega Drive Mini will be delayed in Europe and the Middle East. The original date was September 19, but it has now changed to two weeks later on October 4, 2019, due to ‘unavoidable logistical challenges’. A Sega rep said that, ‘Customers in those regions are still able to preorder from participating retailers and those who have already preordered will only have to wait an extra two weeks for their little box full of retro magic....

Lightmatter is a first-person puzzle game that uses light as the primary mechanic. Players need to navigate their way through a mysterious experimental facility and avoid being consumed by the shadows. And not metaphorically consumed, either – literally swallowed up by them. Wales Interactive has released a new trailer for Sker Ritual, a multiplayer spin-off of Maid of Sker, featuring upgradable steampunk weapons.
