Electronic Arts has revealed a new multiplayer shooter during EA Play Live 2020. Rocket Arena pits two teams of three against each other on dynamic and colorful maps. Oh, and to live up to the name, there’s only rockets. Sniper rifles? No, only rockets. And it will be available — with cross-play support — on Origin and Steam starting July 14. The trailer itself sells that point. Rocket Arena‘s trailer shows off a host of characters, bouncing and leaping across stages firing their own unique rockets....

After enduring a decade of being treated like the forgotten stepchild of From Software’s ludicrously successful Dark Souls series, rumors suggest that Demon’s Souls is getting a remake. For those who don’t remember, Demon’s Souls was a 2009 PlayStation 3 exclusive hardcore RPG which essentially functioned as a proof of concept for the ensuing Souls games. It featured many of the conventions of these games and was, at the time, touted as one of the most difficult games on the system....

Since 2008, Valve has pumped out a significant amount of content into Team Fortress 2, including thousands of cosmetic items, weapon counters, emotes, and promotional events that players fell in love with. After nearly twelve years, a close source reports that the updates for the game have been almost completely abandoned. From the moment that word came through that Nintendo was developing their next console, now revealed to the public at E3 2011, most gamers turned their heads to Microsoft and Sony looking for their next-gen unveiling. While both have been relatively coy about future console development, it looks like a notable developer may have blown the lid on Microsoft’s next platform. Crytek Studios, developer of titles like Far Cry and Crysis, has revealed that they are working on Timesplitters 4, the long anticipated entry in the FPS franchise, and are planning to release it on the Xbox 720, or whatever Microsoft’s next console will be called....

Microsoft has unveiled a new Xbox One S bundle to coincide with the launch of Rare’s upcoming swashbuckling adventure game, Sea of Thieves. Hitting shops day and date with the highly anticipated pirate-’em-up, the Sea of Thieves Xbox One S bundle features a 1TB edition of Microsoft’s flagship console, a downloadable copy of Sea of Thieves, a one-month Xbox Live Gold membership, plus an Xbox Game Pass trial. The bundle will set you back £249....

Season 2 is coming to Halo Infinite on May 3. Joseph Staten, Halo boss over at 343 Industries, put out a new announcement for it late last week, detailing what the season is bringing — and what it’s not (at least not right away). Co-op mode has been in high demand by Halo Infinite fans. It’s still going to be available in Season 2, titled “Lone Wolves,” but not right away....

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season Four is coming to an end. This season has introduced content across all game modes, with the round based Zombies map Mauer Der Toten being a major addition. Season Five will also be populated with an array of new content. Brand new multiplayer maps and remastered versions will join the rotation. In addition, there will be a new weapons, a new Outbreak zone, and much more....

TaleWorlds Entertainment just posted a new update on Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, continuing the first post on sieges. Unlike the previous entry in the franchise, Mount & Blade: Warband, there is much more to sieges in Bannerlord than simply waiting until the attacker is ready to initiate an assault. Bannerlord will provide a back-and-forth between the besieged and the besiegers, each one trying to gain an advantage over one another....

Skylanders Imaginators’ Crash Bandicoot level and toys will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U following a period of timed exclusivity on PS3 and PS4, Activision has confirmed. The content will be available first on PS3 and PS4 in a special Crash Bandicoot pack on October 14, before arriving in a standalone Adventure Pack for all other platforms “later this holiday”. You might not think of just how much there is to developing a modern top-of-the-line VR headset. Eye tracking is an important part of the future of VR and Sony has chosen eye tracking technology company Tobii to develop for the PSVR2. At present, there aren’t any consumer level VR headsets specifically for video gaming that deal with eye tracking. Retail outfit Sports Direct has made a £51.9 million pound takeover bid for UK games retailer Game Digital, it has been announced today. Music streaming service Spotify has launched a brand new gaming channel featuring official game soundtracks and special guest playlists from the gaming community. Soundtracks from Halo, Uncharted 4, No Man’s Sky, The Last of Us, Battlefield, Mass Effect and more are all available to stream, as are various playlists that Spotify recommends listening to while gaming.
