Upcoming kung-fu action game Sifu is out next week, and they’ve gone a little bit different for their launch trailer. Developer Sloclap has partnered with director Christopher Clark Cowan to release a short live action film version of the game. At nine minutes long, it’s longer than your average live action trailer, but gives you a great idea of what to expect from the game when it arrives. To catch you up, Sifu sees you take the role of a young kung-fu student who’s father is brutally murdered....

Now it seems the film will indeed be pushed back as Sonic gets his promised redesign. Jeff Fowler, the movie’s director, has tweeted an image that shows Sonic’s glove holding a sign with a new date of February 14, 2020 with the caption ‘Taking a little more time to make Sonic just right’ followed by the hashtag #NoVFXartistswereharmedinthemakingofthismovie – which seems to indicate the film will now be coming out on Valentine’s Day next year....

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that Jim Ryan will assume the role of CEO and President of SIE from April 1, having previously served for many years in an executive role at Sony’s European arm. John Kodera, the current CEO and President of SIE, will switch roles to Deputy President of the hardware giant, where he will focus on creating ‘innovative user experiences.’ Ryan will report directly to Kenichiro Yoshida, President and CEO of Sony Corporation....

It turns out those special treats and unlocks in Gears of War 3 for gamers who have played other Xbox 360 Epic games, like Shadow Complex, Unreal Tournament 3, and the upcoming Bulletstorm, are not coming after all. From developer Thunder Lotus Games comes Spiritfarer, a painterly game about furnishing a floating house. Check out the trailer: Thunder Lotus have a history of beautifully animated hand-drawn games – like Jotun and Sundered – and Spiritfarer looks to continue that tradition. The game also has something of an Animal Crossing vibe, with fishing on offer, shopping from the local stores, and farming get busy with. There isn’t much by way of story in the trailer, just a series of a very lovely images, and that’s nice....

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Respawn Entertainment’s first entry into a galaxy far, far away won critical acclaim when it launched in November, but Lucasfilm’s expectations for the action title were initially very different, according to game director Stig Asmussen. Tru Blu Entertainment has announced Rugby Challenge 3, a new rugby sim due for release on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in Q4 2015. Developed by Australian studio Wicked Witch Software, Rugby Challenge 3 promises “stunning” graphics and a host of new features over its last-gen predecessor, including a seven-a-side Rugby mode, a new Be a Pro mode, and a player creator that lets users create and share players with others online....

Epic Games’ perennially popular shooter Fortnite is reportedly making the jump to Nintendo Switch, according to a leaked E3 document that’s currently doing the rounds. While the leak originated on 4Chan (yeah, we know, but stay with us), sources close to Kotaku have since stated that the title is indeed heading to the Big N’s hybrid system. Right now it’s unknown which incarnation of Fortnite will supposedly be hitting Switch. The game has two versions: Battle Royale, which is the most popular version of the game and doesn’t cost a penny, and the paid-for Save the World....

The long rumoured —but yet to be confirmed by EA or Bioware— Mass Effect trilogy remaster appears to have hit a stumbling block, if a new report emerging over the weekend is to be believed. According to VentureBeat reporter Jeff Grubb (who was also responsible for the original reports on the project back in August), the remasters —which are apparently now being called Mass Effect: Legendary Edition — is yet to be announced as it’s suffering a delay due to the first game reportedly not living up to “the quality of the rest of package” according to sources who are said to be familiar with the development....

Rune Factory 5 is a role-playing simulation game that was released on Windows. The rights to Steam hit Spintires - as well as the fate of millions of dollars in revenue for spin-off sequels Mudrunner and Snowrunner - are the focus of several major legal claims between Saber Interactive and the game’s original publisher Oovee, Eurogamer can reveal. The increasingly bitter fight between the two companies escalated significantly last week with the issuing of a press release by a legal firm associated with Oovee containing numerous claims directed at Saber, and the brief return of Spintires to Steam despite its previous delisting in the wake of another legal challenge....
