Although news of Sniper Elite V2 Remastered already leaked, developer Rebellion promised that there would be much more Sniper-related news. On Thursday, the company delivered on that promise by not only providing details on the remastered classic, but also announcing three other games in the franchise. They include a Sniper Elite VR game, an upcoming sequel to Sniper Elite 4 (Sniper Elite 5), and Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition for the Nintendo Switch....

Sega’s Takashi Iizuka has revealed that Sonic Mania 2 is not in the pipeline, feeling the team has done all they can for the retro-fuelled project following the upcoming re-release of Sonic Mania this summer. This is despite the fact the 2D platformer was, you know, probably the best thing that’s come out of the franchise in the past ten years, not only restoring consumer faith in the brand but also proving unequivocally that the Blue Blur should really leave the whole 3D thing to Mario and chums....

Sony and Tencent have increased their shareholding in Elden Ring developer FromSoftware. Sony now owns 14.09 percent of the Japanese company, while Tencent, via its Sixjoy subsidiary, now owns 16.25 percent. Existing majority shareholder Kadokawa still owns most of FromSoftware, at 69.66 percent. FromSoftware, widely considered one of the greatest game developers in the world, has a string of influential hits under its belt, including the Souls series, Bloodborne, Sekiro and, most recently, Elden Ring....

Atlus just released a new trailer of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, focusing on one of its demons. The developer has settled once more into the pace of releasing a trailer a day as it did for Shin Megami Tensei V, and today we go back to demons, showing off Dormarth in action. This is rather appropriate since the demon debuted in the 3DS port of the original Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers....

Nintendo has offered a Summer 2022 release window for inky shooter Splatoon 3 during a stacked Nintendo Direct last night. We got a good look at the game’s co-operative Salmon Run mode during the event. You and up to three friends will take on waves of the fishy Salmonoid foes with your ink shooters. But you’ll also have to be wary of bosses that will force you to change up your tactics to succeed or be covered in the green stuff....

Around the time of Borderlands 3’s launch, we ran a small feature on the game’s inherently broken split-screen. To recap: the feature is a complete mess. Abysmal framerates, complete freezes, random crashes, and menus refusing to load – on top of subtitle awkwardness. Since then, the game has been patched a few times, and in those patches we hoped local co-op would get ironed out. Unfortunately, that’s proven to not be the case....

As expected, the trilogy will spruce up the first three instalments in the much-loved platforming franchise, namely 1998’s Spyro the Dragon, 1999’s Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, and 2000’s Spyro: Year of the Dragon. The former PlayStation-exclusive titles have been fully revamped for modern consoles, featuring vibrant high-definition visuals and a re-imagined score based on Stewart Copeland’s original work. Essentially this means you get over 100 levels with the Ignited Trilogy, alongside revamped reward sequences, enhanced environments, new controls, and all-new snazzy lighting effects....

Square Enix has come to the reasonable conclusion that there are plenty of people out there in possession of both a phone and an endless amount of time to kill, so they’ve been hard at work developing a new mobile MMORPG called Fantasy Earth Genesis. The game was first teased back in 2017, and was released in Japan in September 2018. Now, over a year later, players in the United States have learned that they’ll be able to play an American version of the game soon enough....

Undead Labs has now revealed the release date for their zombie survival sequel State of Decay 2. State of Decay 2 will release on 22 May on PC and it will cost $22.99 for the Standard Edition and $44.99 for the Ultimate Edition which sounds fairly reasonable as the first game was a pretty solid title. Undead Labs has been keeping details of the sequel under wraps but more information will be forthcoming this week through a series of reveals that will pop up at IGN....

Digital Devolver co-founder Graeme Struthers has said that the Steam versus Epic Games Store ‘needs to be reset’ as both distribution platforms have their own advantages and are at different stages in their development (via GameSpot). Epic Games has taken to buying exclusives to destabilise the iron grip that Valve’s Steam store has on the PC game marketplace. In addition, the investment funneled from Epic Games to the developer allows small-scale, independent games to speed up development and add new features or team members to complete their vision....

Volition and Deep Silver have announced they’ve delayed the launch of the upcoming Saints Row reboot into August of 2022. When Sega finally detailed its Sonic Origins compilation last week, it was met with a mixed response.
