In a bit of more positive gaming news, the Smash Bros. community was able to band together and give a terminally ill fan the chance to play the game of his dreams. After a friend put out word that Chris Taylor might not live long enough to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate., fellow gamers did all they could to spread his story. Nintendo responded by sending Taylor a special demo version to play in his hospital room....

Rebellion Developments is introducing an Invasion Mode to Sniper Elite 5, and while there isn’t any footage of the mode just yet, the developer did create a post all about it on their website. The Invasion Mode will allow you to invade another player’s game as an Axis Sniper and thwart the Allied Sniper’s mission. Of course, the same will be able to happen to you as well. Invasion Modes aren’t necessarily the most innovative thing these days....

Today Atlus released another gallery of screenshots and details of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2. Deep under the city where the game is set, there is a place named Axis, which Aion uses as its base. There you can interact with Flamma, who represents Aion. Within Axis you can find the Soul Matrix, a series of dungeons associated with Arrow, Milady, and Cyzo. These dungeons represent their mental state and the deeper Apple connects with them, the deeper they can be explored....

EA put out their open Alpha on Star Wars: Rise to Power giving lucky players a chance to experience the most recent Star Wars game for mobile devices. Based on the closed Alpha, many players hedged their expectations with the already looming pay-to-win system that was already prominent. Count Dooku is the next prequel-era Star Wars icon coming to Battlefront II, according to EA’s official website. The curved-lightsaber-wielding villain will be voiced in the game by Corey Burton, who previously played the part in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. The Count Dooku character was first played in the movies by the late, great Christopher Lee, with the actor’s iconic turn as Dracula inspiring Dooku’s black-caped look and dastardly dialogue....

This Star Wars Resistance review contains spoilers. Star Wars Resistance Episode 5 “The High Tower” is mostly table setting. But it’s efficient table setting. While there’s continued controversy over the PS4-exclusive Spec Ops Survival mode, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has otherwise made a number of consumer-friendly decisions so far. This includes free DLC maps instead of a season pass, and releasing all of the DLC maps for every platform simultaneously. IO Interactive, the developers behind both the Kane & Lynch and Hitman games, may have stopped development on a fifth Hitman title after downsizing the studio. Thirty staff members were let go from IO, and a game that was in the works has been canned. There has been no official word on whether or not the title was indeed Hitman 5, or perhaps another project the studio was working on (say, Mini Ninjas 2)....
