Nonetheless, like those two allusions that fans have been making ever since it was announced, Sonic Frontiers is a necessary new direction for the Blue Blur to modernise with his peers - one that attempts to finally pull his speedy form into a genuine 3D game. More than Dr. Eggman’s nefarious schemes, 3D has been Sonic’s long-running nemesis since his 3D debut with Sonic Adventure more than 20 years ago (although it arguably began with the cancelled Saturn game Sonic X-treme)....

Sony has said that it’s “looking forward to an amazing E3”, weeks before the show opens its doors on June 16. Sony insists the quality of its first-party games would suffer if they launched day one in the new PS Plus. The first Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer has been released, giving fans their first look at the latest Peter Parker reboot following his debut in Captain America: Civil War. Homecoming stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, still at high school and having to balance his life as student with being a superhero. Thankfully, it looks like Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark is there to lend a helping hand. The film’s main villain is Vulture, played by Michael Keaton....

Square Enix has revealed the release date of the upcoming tactics JRPG the DioField Chronicle, which was announced earlier this year. The reveal was made during a broadcast hosted by the Japanese YouTube channel Wasyagana TV and mentions a local release date on September 22 for all platforms besides Steam, which will be on September 23. This usually means that the western release will fall on September 23. The game is coming for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC....

Google boss Sundar Pichai has announced Stadia, the company’s much-anticipated streaming gaming platform, during a keynote at GDC in San Francisco today. The company gave an idea of how things will play out with Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which was available to play via browser last year for a limited time. With Stadia, you can simply click on ‘play now’ link on a YouTube trailer and be taken instantly to the game in just seconds....

Mark your calendars, Trekkies. Star Trek: The Motion Picture is flying into a cinema near you! (Yep, I went with the pun, and I don’t regret it.) Fathom Events, known for their nerd-friendly screenings of properties like Doctor Who, Sherlock, and, yes, Star Trek (they previously screened The Wrath of Khan for the film’s 35th anniversary), is partnering with Paramount Pictures to host screenings of the first ever Star Trek film in honor of its 40th anniversary....

Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones is coming to Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PS Vita and PC in early April, Curve Digital has announced. All versions will be released simultaneously, although a price and exact release date have yet to be announced. Stealth Inc 2 expands on the original’s stealth-platforming with a new Metroidvania-style world and customisable characters. The game originally released as a Wii U exclusive last October....

Currently, the Mac version of Steam installs your library of games within the Documents folder. The reason Valve originally chose to install within the Documents folder is due to the fact that when you uninstall from the Mac OS you simply drag to the trash. Installing the games in the Documents folder meant for easy access when cleansing your Steam library. Unfortunately, this caused quite an uproar in the Apple community....

Steam’s newest Remote Play Together integration will reintroduce gamers to split-screen couch co-op without requiring the couch or cutting the screen in half. In an era that has long forgotten the beauty of cooperative split-screen, it’s a welcome addition to the broadening capabilities of technology, like cross-play and cloud gaming. Stemming from Steam’s already existing Remote Play feature, which allows for games to be played via two or more separate computers, Remote Play Together will invite a whole new way of examining co-op, especially if it’s ever adapted for consoles....

Dead Realm is a Roblox game that involves a Survivor and a killer in different locations. The players vote for the location where the game will take place. Once you are in the location, you will get some time to hide from the killer. Then, you need to survive before the timer ends or the killer finds you. If you are a killer, you need to find all the players and eliminate them before the timer ends....
