Capcom recently confirmed the existence of a brand new Resident Evil game called Project Resistance, with a full reveal set to take place on September 9 as part of its Tokyo Game Show festivities. Leaked images of Project Resistance have left fans to believe that the game will have a co-op and multiplayer focus, with some speculating that it will even end up being Resident Evil: Outbreak 3. However, as it turns out, Project Resistance could actually just be a co-op mode for the unannounced Resident Evil 3 remake....

RuneScape developer Jagex is reworking the upcoming Fresh Start Worlds game mode. The new game mode was first revealed a couple of weeks ago, but the long-running MMORPG’s community was not impressed. The initial proposal featured several red flags that had players concerned about how the mode would negatively impact game integrity. To make the necessary adjustments, Jagex has had to push back the release of Fresh Start Worlds. Perhaps the biggest complaint regarding Fresh New Worlds was that existing RuneScape players would have to create a new account to partake in the mode....

Sega has kicked off a new series of Shenmue I & II videos to bring those unfamiliar with the Dreamcast classics up to speed on the epic revenge-driven saga. Imaginatively titled ‘What is Shenmue?,’ the first video looks at the game’s storyline and is narrated by Cory Marshall, the voice actor behind protagonist Ryo Hazuki. Honestly, all you really need to know about Shenmue is that you can race forklift trucks, look for sailors with tattoos, and waste hours playing classic Sega games in the arcades or getting sweaty in the local park....

Bandai Namco released a new trailer if its upcoming action game SD Gundam Battle Alliance. The trailer showcases the Gundam Ground Type with Shiro Amada, the Full Armor Gundam with Io Fleming, the Psycho Zaku with Daryl Lorenz, the Gundam “Alex” with Christina Mackenzie, the Kampfer with Mikhail Kaminsky, the ZZ Gundam with Judau Ashta, the V2 Assault Buster Gundam with Uso Ewin, the Gundam Double X with Garrod Ran, the Justice Gundam with Athrun Zala, the Gundam Exia Repair II with Setsuna F....

Bluepoint Games has confirmed that the sumptuous-looking Shadow of the Colossus remake on PS4 will include a dedicated Photo Mode. This probably won’t come as much of a surprise seeing as how the game is packed full of stunning visual highlights, from the hulking Colossi themselves to eyeball-popping vistas. Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Bluepoint’s art director, Mark Skelton, shared a couple of snazzy snaps from the feature before extolling the many finer points of the Photo Mode....

Things aren’t looking good for Ryo Hazuki’s comeback tour, as Shenmue III keeps being discounted further, even though it was only released a month ago. Shenmue III was a project that saw many attempts to get off the ground for many years, but it wasn’t until crowdfunding became popular that it managed to become a reality. Yu Suzuki appeared during Sony’s memorable E3 2015 conference in order to announce the Kickstarter project for Shenmue 3....

Amidst the numerous events and challenges taking place in Pokémon GO, two Shiny Pokémon have been made available in the wild that were previously only accessed through raids. Players are stating that certain Pokémon formerly only available to those who attended Go Fest earlier in the year are now spawning in the wild for all players. In total, four Pokémon are being reported that were not available before, including the steel/fairy type Mawile, dark type Absol, ice/steel type Alolan Sandshrew, and ice type Alolan Vulpix....

Skull & Bones creative director Justin Farren spoke to Gamespot recently and attempted to clarify what Ubisoft meant when the French publisher said the game would have a ‘narrative campaign’.Initially thought to be a traditional single-player mode, this ‘narrative campaign’ will instead be a shared experience told over the course of months and years, attempting to tie into Ubisoft’s focus on games-as-a-service. Farren said the developer is looking at a ‘shared-narrative’ approach, meaning the single-player aspect of the game is not a separate experience, but is instead ‘woven into everything you do....

Sniper Elite 5 follows the story of Karl Fairburne as he tries to stop the secret Nazi project ‘Project Kraken’. The game is fun to play solo but for those who love playing it with friends there are a few multiplayer options that you can look into. The game also features an Axis Invasion Mode where you play the Elite German Sniper Jäger. This begs the question how to invade your friends and play multiplayer in Sniper Elite 5....

Sony is on the hunt for a senior director of PC planning and strategy. The new position - which will sit within PlayStation Global and, despite the pandemic, insists the successful candidate relocates to California - wants to “bring the best of the PlayStation experiences to markets and channels around the world”, hinting that Sony may be ready to further strengthen its PC presence. “The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategy and commercial activity within global channel sales and will deliver a single, optimised PC sales growth and commercial plan to hub and territory teams to implement [and] identifying future sectors & partnerships for commercial growth,” the job ad states (thanks, PC Gamer)....

If you’re not already excited about Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4, it’s high time you should be. Hopefully, the latest news will be the push needed to get you there. Another alternate spidey-suit has been revealed for those who pre-order the PS4-exclusive title, coming in the form of the Iron Spider suit. The slick-looking suit should be familiar to those who have seen the trailers for Avengers: Infinity War, which showcases Tom Holland as Peter Parker, impressively donning the shiny, armored suit (which was also teased at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming)....

I have to say, the cinematic trailer for Squadron 42 released last night must be the most polished I’ve seen ever Star Citizen. I mean, it looked stunning. The cast of characters is comprised of names attached to some of the most well-known sci-fi films and TV. It all looked so…expensive. At least we know where that support money is going. The trailer stars many famous actors, all of whom are faithfully recreated in the Star Citizen engine....

Square Enix has launched a new survey asking Final Fantasy fans to provide feedback on Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae. The results of the survey will be shared with the Final Fantasy XV team and help shape development of the upcoming RPG. When Disney purchased Lucasfilm for $4 billion in 2012, Star Wars fans were divided into two camps.
