PlayStation fans haven’t had a new Sly Cooper game since 2013’s Thieves in Time, but a new leak may have revealed that Sly Cooper 5 is in the works. Online retailers Instant Gaming and Press Start both have listings for the unannounced Sly Cooper 5, and both peg the game for a 2020 release date on the PlayStation 4. The retailers also have box art for Sly Cooper 5, showing a more-detailed version of the character that’s reminiscent of how he appeared in the unfinished Sly Cooper movie adaptation....

Sniper Elite 5 is the newest installment of Rebellion’s action-shooter series set in World War II. Due to release tomorrow, it once again sees Karl Fairburne take on the juggernaut that is Nazi Germany. And, like the previous title, it relies on familiar concepts and core components that have been the series’ staples. However, that familiarity might soon wear thin. While there’s an assortment of multiplayer modes that could keep you going, the single-player campaign is a redux of what you’ve come to expect....

Sega & Paramount have announced a third live action Sonic the Hedgehog movie is in development, alongside a TV series spin-off featuring Knuckles. The companies announced the news during Paramount’s investor event last night. As Deadline report, the series will launch on their streaming service Paramount+ in 2023 and will see Idris Elba return to voice Knuckles. It’s especially significant as the second movie, which will introduce the Echidna to the live-action universe, isn’t even out yet....

Sony has fixed the message bug that was bricking PlayStation 4 consoles. Just a few days ago, we reported that a text message exploit was causing player’s PlayStation 4 consoles to freeze up to the point where a factory reset was required. That’s a huge kick in the teeth since it means you lose all your save data unless you uploaded it to the cloud. On top of that, the crash message didn’t even need to be read to be activated, making it possible to use as a weapon to win multiplayer games....

Sony has reportedly told UK retailers they can no longer sell PlayStation Now cards - which can be used to purchase fixed subscription periods for the company’s games streaming and download service - in stores from 21st January, amid persistent claims it’s readying to launch an expanded version of PlayStation Plus. That’s according to a new report by VentureBeat’s Jeff Grub, who shares a recent email circulated to store staff by senior management at UK retailer Game as an example of the move....

Today Atlus released its inevitable daily trailer of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, showing another of the demons that appear in the game. This time around the focus is on Mermaid, which I’m sure most Shin Megami Tensei fans will be familiar with. Apparently, Square-Enix President Yoichi Wada is a tough man to please. STALKER 2 was originally announced in 2010, only to be canceled in 2012. Then, in 2018, it was re-announced and is supposedly set for release later this year. To put it bluntly, it’s been quite the ride for fans of the series. However, we’re finally seeing some light at the end of this tunnel, as STALKER 2 has gotten some plot info to go along with its December teaser video that lets us know that, yes, it’s very real and the developer is actually still working on it....

Liam Robertson of Unseen64 and Did You Know Gaming? revealed on his Patreon-exclusive podcast that BioWare Austin is working on a new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (via PC Gamer). After stating that BioWare Austin is exclusively working on Star Wars games currently, Robertson said, ‘What they’re currently working on right now—and I have this on good authority—is a sort of remake/revival of Knights of the Old Republic. I don’t know when this is set to come out, but it has been in development for a little while now....

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is now available on Steam, but the user response has been mixed. Ubisoft has been gradually releasing many of its games on Steam, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla back in November. However, players were disappointed at that game’s lack of Steam Achievements. The Division 2 arrived on Steam on 12th January, but similarly does not include Steam Achievements resulting in a backlash from fans. That’s on top of complaints of frequent crashing....

UPDATE 20/1/23: Rocket League developer Psyonix has announced a wave of bans for bot accounts running rampant in the game’s competitive modes. The issue was highlighted last week by exasperated players fed up at too-perfect opponents turning out to be bots trained by AI. Now, Psyonix has responded, removing “a number of accounts” and reinstating the ability to report opponents as cheaters. Further anti-cheat functionality is also on the way, and currently “in progress with the engineering teams,” Psyonix said in a statement posted to reddit....

Combat is coming back to the golf course next week, as a sequel to the hit indie game released back in 2018 title RPGolf set to release next week on console and PC. Titled RPGolf Legends, the next installment in the franchise once again sees players combat evil while trying to remain under par. The Mortal Kombat movie reboot just wrapped filming a couple of days ago, with much of the project being kept secret. While some of the biggest Mortal Kombat characters have already been confirmed for the movie, there are some who still have yet to be announced, including Shao Kahn, who is hugely important to the franchise’s lore. Since Shao Kahn originally appeared in Mortal Kombat 2, it’s possible he’s being saved for a potential sequel, but fans may still get a look at him in the 2021 movie reboot....
