Farm-’em-up hit Stardew Valley will finally be planting seeds on PlayStation Vita from May 22, ConcernedApe has announced on the EU PlayStation Blog. The game will arrive on Sony’s handheld as a Cross-Buy title, which means you’ll only need to purchase it once to enjoy it on both PS Vita and PlayStation 4. This also means that if you already own it on PS4 you can download the portable version free of charge....

The developer behind Red Dead Online has confirmed it has no plans to reset player progress after completion of the beta period. Last week, Rockstar Games warned players that they may have their progress reset if required due to potential issues rearing their head. Omega Force doesn’t have the best track record for its sequels. As such, I’ve been simultaneously excited for and worried about Samurai Warriors 5. Relax, the devs didn’t repeat the mistakes made with Dynasty Warriors 9. There’s no bland, pointless open world or needless combat adjustments. If anything, it’s mostly similar to the previous game in the series. Samurai Warriors 5 releases on consoles later this month, and it will come to PC at the end of July....

It turns out the endless attempts to get a live-action adaptation of the Halo series are finally going to bear some fruit. There’s a series in the works for the Showtime network and the company’s official Twitter page has announced that it has a cast. Everyone has practiced their scripts and they’re about to start making some episodes. Former Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka has sparked speculation following an interview with YouTube channel AI Hub which has since been pulled. During the interview, Yamaoka teased (as per Silconera) that his next project would “probably” be revealed this summer, adding “I think it’s the one you’re hoping to hear about” which has lead to speculation it may be related to the horror series that made his name. The interview was pulled later by the channel, tweeting “We were asked to remove the clip, and it has been removed” although they stopped short of saying whether it was Konami, Yamaoka or someone else that asked them to take it down....

Activision has announced that beyond this year’s Call of Duty from Treyarch, a new title for release in 2011 is also in development as is the first Call of Duty game from recently formed Sledgehammer Games. “The company is also for the first time announcing that a new game in the Call of Duty series is expected to be released in 2011 and that Sledgehammer Games, a newly formed, wholly owned studio, is in development on a Call of Duty game that will extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre,” the publisher said in a press release last night....
