Ubisoft’s marketing team has outdone itself with this Far Cry Primal Stone Age PlayStation 4, DualShock 4 controllers, TV and even some pizza. A Rogue One expansion is being released this holiday season for Star Wars Battlefront, EA announced during a panel at the Star Wars Celebration this weekend. Niklas Fegraeus, design director of Battlefront, revealed the news. Rogue One: Scarif, inspired by the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will be out in December alongside the film which hits cinemas on December 16. “Go to the theatre, come home, and play as Jyn or Krennic on Scarif,” Fegraeus said....

Detective comedy VR game Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! has been dated for launch first on Oculus Quest on July 8, with a PC and PSVR launch early next year. As was previously announced, the game is an all-new adventure starring the Freelance Police, and puts you as a rookie new recruit. As the titular duo train you up for your first case, you’ll be undertaking a series of challenges and solving puzzles in Sam & Max’s first new adventure in a decade....

Sega has abandoned plans to embrace NFTs following “negative reactions” from gamers. In an interview with Tweak Town, Sega CEO Haruki Satomi acknowledged the publisher would like to “try out various [NFT] experiments”, but was quick to say “nothing is decided at this point” and the company would have to “carefully assess” “what will be accepted and what will not be by the users”. “In terms of NFT, we would like to try out various experiments and we have already started many different studies and considerations but nothing is decided at this point regarding P2E,” Satomi said (thanks, VGC)....

Shenmue 3 will only be partially funded via its Kickstarter campaign, with Sony confirming it will be a partner on the project. Speaking on a PlayStation live stream earlier this week Sony director of third party relations Gio Corsi joined Yu Suzuki to chat about Shemnue 3. Corsi revealed that Sony and Suzuki met at GDC 2014 to discuss the project. “The only way this is going happen is if the fans speak up and we thought Kickstarter was the perfect place to do this,” explained Corsi....

Tekken’s is-he-a-man-or-a-robot-ninja-dude Yoshimitsu has been officially confirmed for SoulCalibur 6. The Manji clan member, who is an ancestor to the Yoshimitsu who has appeared in Tekken since 1994, comes equipped with his trademark sword and acrobatic fighting style, and looks just as much of a pain in the arse to fight as he’s always been. Yoshimitsu joins a number of returning faces for the upcoming fighting sequel, including Taki and Nightmare....
