For reasons unknown, virtual reality platforms are getting a brand new Space Channel 5 game later this year. The oddly titled Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! will release for PSVR on February 25 before arriving on PC via Steam VR, Vive, and Oculus in the near future. In order to sell people on a VR sequel to a series that’s been mostly dormant since the Dreamcast era, Sega has released a brand new trailer that shows that, apparently, the world of Space Channel 5 has remained almost entirely static since its debut 20 years ago....

Games publisher Deep Silver has announced that the release date for Chorus is December 3. The upcoming space shooter is being developed by German studio Fishlabs., which Deep Silver’s parent company Koch Media acquired in 2013 shortly after it went into administration. The developer was founded in 2004 and is best known for the Galaxy on Fire spaceflight simulation games. To accompany the announcement Deep Silver has also revealed a new trailer for Chorus....

Today, Crunchyroll announced that the teams behind this season’s hit new anime, Spy x Family, and next season’s most highly anticipated show, Chainsaw Man, would both be present during the Crunchyroll Expo 2023. Yesterday BioWare confirmed that Mass Effect 3 would not be coming out this year, instead debuting sometime within the first quarter of 2012. EA has detailed the line-up of content included in Star Wars Battlefront’s £39.99 Season Pass, confirming that 16 new maps, 4 new game modes and 4 more heroes and villains are to be released as future DLC. The content will be split across four different expansion packs, with the first to be released in early 2016. Season Pass holders will receive two-weeks early access to each expansion and an exclusive ‘Shoot First’ emote....

Rocket League developer Psyonix has announced that the game’s Rocket Pass will roll out next week for PlayStation 4, PC, Switch, and Xbox One. Rocket Pass 1 launches on September 5 at 6.00pm BST and will run through until November 26. There’s a total of 29 free rewards up for grabs, which you can earn by simply competing in Rocket League online matches. However, Psyonix is offering up to 70 rewards as part of the paid-for premium service, allowing you to get your hands on new vehicles, goal explosions, XP bonuses, keys, and more by progressing through the tiers....

Square Enix is once again digging into the back catalogue and porting the RPG Romancing SaGa 2 to the PC. The game first appeared in 1993 and it involved players taking the throne of the Varennes Empire and controlling several generations of rulers in a valiant battle against the Seven Heroes. This revamped release will come with new features including new character classes to provide more depth to the combat, four new dungeons, and a “New Game+” feature which allows players to carry over character attributes and items into a new game or save lands and companions that were sacrificed originally....

Romancing SaGa 3 has finally arrived in the West. The JRPG classic originally released in Japan on Nov 11, 1995, so it is releasing in the US and Europe 24 years later to the day. Pretty cool. SaGa 3 is a well-known example of Japanese video games that never made it to the West.
