Games released onto Steam are making significantly less revenue this year compared to sales data from last year, as analysed by Mike Rose of publishing label No More Robots. No More Robots takes on services beyond publishing games, like Not Tonight and Hypnospace Outlaw, by ‘utilising wide-ranging video game sales figures and statistics to pin down exactly what makes games sell.’ As such, Rose has released his analysis of Steam sales data, and stressed that these conclusions are based on estimates....

Capcom Europe has today announced that the highly anticipated Street Fighter IV is to be released across Europe for Xbox 360 and PS3 on February 20, 2009. No date for the PC version has been confirmed. Street Fighter IV will form part of a strong Q1 2009 line-up for Capcom, which also includes Bionic Commando and Resident Evil 5 on March 13, 2009.

In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, there’s a fortune teller called Auntie Poulet, voiced by Youree Harris, who looked and sounded very similar to the recently deceased TV psychic, Miss Cleo, also voiced by Youree Harris. However, the Psychic Readers Network, which owns the rights to Miss Cleo, has taken issue and it’s recently filed a lawsuit against Rockstar Games for its plagiarism of the mystic Miss Cleo for Vice City’s Auntie Poulet....

A month into its second season, Rogue Company is turning up the heat with the Hot Rogue Summer update. The patch adds a new Limited Time Mode on Skirmish maps, a collection of summer-themed Outfits, plenty of UI improvements, and some balance changes to weapons. In the cosmetic department, there are also a ton of thematic in-game items to collect, including Weapon Wraps, Emotes, and Wingsuits. Skirmish Team Deathmatch is the name of the Limited-Time Mode coming to Rogue Company with the Hot Rogue Summer update....

It may be a little late for the holidays, but fans of Disney and HD graphics can allow themselves to get a bit more excited about the possible notion of seeing Disney’s Epic Mickey coming to the PlayStation 3. Spanish website PSNow! reported earlier today that in 2011, Disney Interactive would be releasing a version of Epic Mickey exclusively for the PS3. The game would not be a port of the former-Wii-exclusive, but a game developed alongside the Wii version since 2008 to take advantage of the PS3’s strengths....

Rare has announced plans to launch a closed Technical Alpha test for its upcoming seafaring adventure Sea of Thieves. Beginning next Friday, December 16, the alpha will be limited to around 1,000 people who have previously signed up to the game’s Insider Program, with more set to be invited as the test progresses over the course of the weekend. Sometimes I can’t help but kind of like something that has its fair share of problems. Seed of Life is basically an adventure game with collectathon, exploration, and platforming elements all rolled up in to one. It does some cool things, and it also does some things that it probably shouldn’t have done. I was hoping to beat it before launch day to give it a full review, but I got stuck due to some astoundingly bad signposting, so you’re getting this instead....

EA has announced it’s shutting down the servers for 2009 skateboarding title Skate 2. The official Skate Twitter account made the announcement to fans last night. Somewhat awkwardly, this was directly after a RT referencing the game amongst 76 added to the Xbox Backwards Compatibility program. As per the announcement, the online servers will be shuttered on December 10, 2021 for both Xbox and PlayStation. Theoretically, this shouldn’t effect the game’s single player, allowing players to still play the story mode with no issues....

Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games were canned from making the 2020 Call of Duty game due to reported tension between the two studios. There are a few things you can count on in this life. Sega has announced that Sonic Forces will be released across Europe on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 7. It’s also revealed that the game will receive a Bonus Edition, and this comes with art cards and a DLC add-on pack. The Sonic Forces Bonus Edition will come with four Sonic Forces art cards, as well as a Sega/Atlus pack add-on which will enable the player to recreate their Hero character with the look of five other iconic characters from Sega and Atlus games....

PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst has revealed Sony’s first-party PlayStation releases will likely take “at least a year” to launch on PC, although live-service games might come sooner. Sony initially confirmed it was exploring bringing its first-party PlayStation exclusives to PC in March 2020, announcing that Horizon Zero Dawn would lead the charge - although it said “releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC” and that it didn’t have plans to follow Xbox’s lead with day-and-date PC releases....

Spenser Confidential is the next action thriller feature fielded by star Mark Wahlberg under the direction of Peter Berg, following their last effort, 2018’s Mile 22. However, this offering will manifest not at theaters, but on Netflix! Interestingly, the film is an adaptation of the Spenser novel series of author Robert B. Parker, which were more famously represented on television with ABC’s popular 1985-1988 series, Spenser: For Hire, which was briefly spun-off in 1989 with the short-lived A Man Called Hawk....
