Shadow of the Tomb Raider is coming to PS4, PC, and Xbox One on September 14, Square Enix has announced. The official reveal comes less than a day after the game’s release date was leaked via the source code for the series’ official website. Billed as heroine Lara Croft’s ‘defining moment,’ Shadow of the Tomb Raider is expected to be the final chapter in the rebooted action-adventure franchise, and finally sees her origins story come to a close as she becomes the titular Tomb Raider....

Nine years on from Flying Wild Hog Studios’ first reboot of the Shadow Warrior franchise, it’s all change with the third series entry. Protagonist Lo Wang’s voice is different, the gameplay itself has evolved and crucially - from a Digital Foundry perspective, at least - the engine technology powering the experience has moved on. The impressive Road Hog engine takes a backseat this time to Unreal Engine 4 - a controversial decision that doesn’t quite pay off....

For all intents and purposes, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX will be an updated version of the 2006 originals, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team. Although the recreation will stay true to the spirit of its predecessor, the 2020 title will also contain an entirely new feature: shiny Pokémon. Gameplay footage containing a shiny pink Ampharos within the upcoming Mystery Dungeon recently surfaced on YouTube, confirming that shiny variants will make their way to the title....

PSP strategy game Legends of War: Patton’s Campaign was “mistakenly included” in January’s line-up of PlayStation Plus games, Sony has said – but if you’ve already downloaded it, it still seems to be yours to keep for the duration of your PS Plus subscription. The correct game should have been PS Vita title History: Legends of War, Sony says, which is now correctly included in this month’s line-up. Quite how the error occurred, though, isn’t clear, although some have suggested that the confusion may be down to the regional differences between the Vita game’s name, which is called History Legends of War: Patton in North America, and History Legends of War in Europe....

Sony has some “major PlayStation announcements” in store for this December’s PlayStation Experience, the platform holder has teased. The event will take place in San Francisco on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, and will let fans go hands-on with “2015 and 2016’s biggest games”. Sony also says there’ll be “those patented PlayStation surprises you’ve come to expect”. Sony used last year’s PlayStation Experience to unveil the first gameplay footage of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and announce David Jaffe’s latest project Drawn To Death....

Atlus just released not one, but two trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2. The first trailer is the second main promotion video of the game, showcasing characters, an introduction to the story, and gameplay. It comes with English subtitles, which you may have to manually enable. The second is part of the series of daily trailers that we have already gotten used to with the crazy promotional campaign for Shin Megami Tensei V....

Today Atlus released not one but two trailers about its upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2. The first showcases the opening cutscene of the game. The second video is the usual daily video, focusing on Club Cretaceous and its owner, the mysterious Madame Ginko. As usual, we get a daily horoscope in the daily trailer, placing Leo at the top of the fortune food chain, and Pisces at the bottom. Soul Hackers 2 launches for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC ( both on Steam and on the Windows Store) on August 26, just one day after the Japanese release on August 25....
