Survival horror games are a bit of a niche genre. Not everyone enjoys voluntarily putting themselves in situations where they feel vulnerable and helpless. Some people do, and to those we say, “to each their own.” All joking aside, there’s no genre quite like it. Survival horror can bring some of the most memorable gaming experiences when done well, or leave you feeling burned when the credits roll. Thankfully, we won’t be looking at the latter today....

Technical Director Marius Fahlbusch of developer 5th Cell, creators of Scribblenauts and Drawn to Life recently spoke to Official Nintendo Magazine UK. In the interview, he was asked about the possibility of Scribblenauts for the Wii and his response only revealed that it is an “interesting” idea. “It would certainly be interesting to do the game for the Wii, but for the moment we are concentrating on Scribblenauts for DS. We’re always looking to do something new, something that hasn’t been done before....

Del Boy Trotter was bang on when he said that everyone loves a curry, but have you ever looked at a plate of Vindaloo once and wished you were gobbling down something more…Sonic the Hedgehog-y? Well, now you can. Sega, for reasons I’m struggling to process, have started flogging Sonic curries in Japan. They come packaged in boxes that resemble the original Sonic the Hedgehog game on the Mega Drive/Genesis, and are inky blue in colour....

FromSoftware has released a new Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice trailer for you to gawk at, and from the look of things the upcoming samurai slash-’em-up is definitely wearing its influences on its sleeves, channelling an unmistakable Onimusha vibe. The trailer combines moody voice overs with a sprinkling of claret-spilling gameplay footage, as the game’s Shinobi protagonist deftly dodges enemy attacks while hacking off limbs and delivering wince-worthy killing blows. To be fair, FromSoftware has mentioned that Sekiro is more than just a Dark Souls game at its core, and we’d be hard pressed to argue with that after watching the trailer....

Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass is currently in development for the PC, Croteam announced at the Reboot Develop conference yesterday. Right now there’s not an awful lot to go on in terms of game info, although the developer did reveal a trailer for you to gawk at below. Fortunately we won’t have to wait too long to find out more details, as Serious Sam 4 will be strutting its stuff at E3 2018 in June....

The Epic Games Store has been a beacon of hope for those on a budget, with a variety of games given away to players to keep week after week. A modder has replicated the entire Earth Temple from Skyward Sword as a custom dungeon mod, or shrine replacement, for Breath of the Wild (via PCGamer). The modder, Kreny, uses the modding tool Ice Spear: a visual editor with which many players are creating little experimental dungeons to fully fleshed out spaces, with challenging puzzles that would fit comfortably in any Zelda title. Kreny’s addition isn’t exactly the same as its predecessor, because the two games have different mechanics and different assets to create a dungeon from, but it’s undeniably an awesome achievement....

It’s been a while since we last heard from Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2. The FPS game that combines sniping and stealth was slated to release last fall, but it had suffered from a few delays. We did see a teaser showcasing a kill from a distance of 1,506 meters, but that’s about it. Thankfully, CI Games provided a gameplay trailer that gives more details about the missions, guns, and gadgets in Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2....

While most of the best MMOs have a paywall, Destiny 2 is a free game that has the same quality, just without the fee. Join your favorite heroes as they embark on nearly impossible missions to save the day. One of the PvE missions that you will face is the Solstice quest. And while this is a relatively easy quest to embark on, players are very likely to get extremely frustrated very fast....

IGN has released the very first look at Sonic Frontiers gameplay. There’s not a lot of of context to be found, but what is seen is very promising and looks to be a Sonic the Hedgehog take on Breath of the Wild. You can see all of the seven minutes of Sonic Frontiers gameplay here and below: The video opens with a quite menacing tower in the far distance. We then get to watch as Sonic makes his way not only to this tower to demonstrate the open world, but he actually is able to climb it....

In an effort to check in on their faithful early adopters, Sony has sent out surveys to any of its PlayStation Plus members hoping to chart how their customers are feeling. Sent directly from the PlayStation Network the message read: The survey is simple enough, requiring any who participate to evaluate their feelings on a scale from 1-10. Some of the questions are as insignificant as what is the member’s gender, while others ask the individual to rate some of PlayStation Plus’ stand-out features....

Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe has confirmed the full lineup of November’s PlayStation Plus games, and as previously reported, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is part of the free package. People Can Fly’s criminally underrated and highly addictive shooter is joined by Sega’s Yakuza Kiwami, a full-fledged remake of PlayStation 2’s cult gangster-smashing hit. There’s more content this time around too, including some epic rucks with the wacky Goro Majima. Meanwhile, players can also download two PlayStation 3 games – Jackbox Party Pack 2 and Arkedo Series – while PlayStation Vita fans can snap up Burly Men At Sea and Roundabout, complete with PS4 cross-buy....

Today Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that it has closed the deal to acquire Destiny 2 developer Bungie. The announcement was shared on Twitter, as you can see at the bottom of the post. The deal was originally announced in January, with Sony pledging to grant Bungie the freedom to “independently publish and creatively develop” its games, targeting “fans across multiple platforms and entertainment mediums.” As a matter of fact, the house of PlayStation explained that the purchase of Bungie wasn’t simply a move to increase its portfolio with one more studio and its games....

When online games have their servers shut down, some or all of the game’s content typically becomes unavailable to players. Unfortunately, two PS4 games are going to be receiving this treatment soon. The games in question are Singstar and Driveclub. Each will see a shutdown in 2020, with Singstar’s servers going offline on January 31st, 2020, and Driveclub’s disconnecting on March 31st, 2020. Players who still enjoy Singstar will want to prepare for the game going offline as soon as possible....

Sony has revealed the logo for the upcoming PlayStation 5 console, but it’s probably something anyone familiar with the previous systems could have drawn up themselves. The electronics giants held their CES 2020 Conference on Monday, an event which was quite informative except for maybe the new logo reveal as it’s pretty much the same as the PS3’s and PS4’s, just with a 5. Sony CEO Jim Ryan made the reveal after taking the stage and fans hoping for a PS5-related bit did get something, although it must have come as little surprise....

Sony’s State of Play revealed a number of great titles coming in the near future. However, it didn’t offer very many details and many fans disappointed that there wasn’t more information about Final Fantasy VII Remake. The stream began by showing off what many fans of the Monster Hunter series had long been anticipating. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has received an official launch date of September 6, 2019. We also got to see a few of the new creatures that will appear....

A new game that tasks players with building and managing their own space station is coming to Steam Early Access this October.
