Spelunky 2 reintroduced itself at a recent PS4 State of Play event, after it was announced almost three years ago. Alongside its reintroduction came the news that we didn’t want: console-timed exclusivity. A PC version was reaffirmed, but it is scheduled to come shortly after the PS4 release. Thankfully, it’s now been clarified that Spelunky 2 will launch “no later than a few weeks” after the Ps4 launch. The game is currently scheduled to hit PlayStation 4 on September 15, 2020....

The next line-up of free games given to Google Stadia Pro subscribers has been announced and it turns out that fans will receive three games in March, in the form of GRID, SteamWorld Dig 2, and SteamWorld Quest. Google is rolling out a free version of Stadia in 2020 (and it will likely be soon), but there is a paid tier that is available to those who want to experience Stadia games at 4k resolution....

Gunsport, a game set to be lost with the closure of Stadia, has now been made available on Steam within another game. Necrosoft originally released Gunsport in 2020 as a Stadia exclusive; this was followed by Hyper Gunsport in June 2022 across PC, Switch, Xbox and PlayStation. Today Square Enix released two new trailers of the upcoming Star Ocean JRPG Star Ocean: The Divine Force. The first trailer introduces Elena, a crew member of the transport ship Ydas and the adjutant of hero Raymond Lawrence. The second trailer focuses on Albaird, a knight who serves Laeticia Aucerius, first princess of the Kingdom of Osidius and his childhood friend. He excels at semiomancy magic and fights with his chakram....

3Mind Games has announced a new turn-based story-driven RPG called The Protagonist. With turn-based tactical combat, players will be able to affect the course of the game depending on which actions they take. Featuring a Special Operative with the Terran military force code named: ANGEL, she’s on a mission to infiltrate an alien space station. Unfortunately for her it doesn’t go to plan and finds herself in the station’s infirmary and she must find a way out while the station is on lock-down....

Street Fighter 5 on PS4 and PC will benefit from the franchise’s largest ever online beta program, Capcom has announced. Capcom says the tests will be “essential to collect your feedback and to ensure that Street Fighter 5 is the best iteration yet”. Microsoft has set a release date for Robocraft Infinity, confirming the Xbox One actioner will launch on April 11 and will also be made available via the Xbox Game Pass on the same day. According to the game’s producer, Luis Dellinger, Robocraft was designed from the ground-up to be the ‘best Robocraft experience available on any platform,’ and originally launched in public alpha form back in 2013. The game has evolved massively since, and now boasts over 13 million registered players worldwide on PC....

As gamers are furiously trying to uncover the secrets of the Assassin’s Creed Revelations Facebook page, they are hoping that with each new teaser video comes a hint that this next game will be a whole new adventure. Unfortunately, according to a rumor based around this year’s E3, it appears Revelations might be nothing more than a continuation of the storyline of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Thankfully the rumor also claims that the next numbered entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise is also in the works, but, in order to make a 2011 deadline, Revelations needed to return to the time period of AC 2 and Brotherhood....

There’s a new visitor hanging out in Destiny 2‘s Tower. No, it’s not someone singing Christmas carols because it’s the Season of Dawn. It’s also not someone expecting you to give him a small red envelope filled with cash. It’s none other than Saint-14, the legendary Titan you’ve saved by going back through time during the “An Impossible Task” quest chain. This comes as quite a surprise. After all, given that “An Impossible Task” had new tasks and a new Corridors of Time mission each week, players expected he’d return for the December 24 reset....

Scorn is an upcoming first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish world that probably won’t go over well for people averse to body horror. It’s been in development for quite a while, but last year developer Ebb Software announced that the game would finally release in October 2022, just in time for Halloween. It was later revealed that Scorn had a specific release date of October 21. In a surprising turn of events, Ebb Software and publisher Kepler Interactive have now announced a new release date for Scorn, and it’s a week earlier on October 14....

The much-anticipated Shenmue 3 has been delayed. In a video update on the game’s Kickstarter page, Shenmue III Director Yu Suzuki confirmed that the game wouldn’t be released until the second half of 2018. ‘In order to achieve the game concept you supported and my sixteen year-long personal dream, we have revised the development schedule,’ Suzuki said. He added that developer Ys Net is planning to release the game ‘in the second half of 2018....

Skullgirls 2nd Encore is making its way to Nintendo Switch and Xbox One this spring, Skybound Games has announced. The hand-drawn fighting game will be released digitally for both formats, although there’s a limited edition physical edition for Switch that Skybound is flogging via its online store. This will include the game on cartridge, a controller skin, and 12-inch vinyl record featuring Skullgirl’s soundtrack. Skullgirls was originally released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 way back in 2012, although it was ported to PS4 and PS Vita under the 2nd Encore moniker a couple of years back....

Slay the Spire is already one of the more unique roguelikes out there. It blends card game action with roguelike elements for a truly fun and frustrating experience. It’s basically a virtual deckbuilding game, just with fun graphics and lots of difficult enemies. So it should be no surprise then that Slay the Spire is coming to tabletops with a board game adaptation. Sonic Central 2022 has wrapped, with Sega showing off what’s to come with its famous mascot franchise within the next year. Running at 10 minutes, presenters were quick to get to each little clip.
