Gary Whitta, co-writer of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, criticized EA for its handling of the Star Wars license. Although it seems as though Disney has been crushing box-office records, when it comes to Star Wars, they still need some serious work in the videogame department. Recently, we reported that Electronic Arts has just announced the cancellation of an open-world Star Wars title that was previously in development. In an official statement, EA confirmed that they’re pulling the plug, instead choosing to refocus their efforts on another upcoming project entitled Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, slated for a holiday 2019 release....

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will not be a yearly title, EA has confirmed, with the game set to receive additional content updates free of charge following its release later this month. The news was confirmed in a post on the Operation Sports forums by designer Justin Patel, where he said that “this is not a yearly title and we are very excited about what what we are going to be able to provide users of this game”....

We never thought we’d see this day arrive but Facepunch has finally decided to release RUST after four years of Early Access. The survival game from Facepunch has proved a popular title on Steam having sold around 6.5 million copies since it appeared on Steam according to Steamspy. When the game launched, survival games were all the rage and perhaps Facepunch is realising the PC gaming world is moving on because there’s no huge fanfare for this launch....

With a couple of big games released so far this year, such as Elden Ring and Ghostwire Tokyo, there’s a chance in the coming month or so to catch up with other recent titles. Gundam Battle Universe and the other Artdink Gundam games on the PSP are still considered to be some of the best entries in the franchise. The issue is, it’s been over a decade since the developer stopped making them. When I saw it was attached to SD Gundam Battle Alliance, this quickly became one of the games I was most hyped about this year. I imagined what Artdink, which made great mecha games with extremely weak hardware, must be capable of with modern tech....

The company has announced a new Season of Giving promotion. It’s an initiative in which it’ll donate 1,500 special edition GSP 305 gaming headsets to seven different global charities. The Shadow of the Colossus remake is just around the corner, and Sony’s keen on reminding you that the game actually has a story to justify your reasons for slaughtering innocent-looking fury rock monsters. Developed by Bluepoint Games, the PS4 version of Shadow of the Colossus has been fully remade from the ground up for Sony’s powerhouse console, so don’t think this is just a spruced up version of the PS3 edition....

Deep Silver announced today that the release of Shenmue 3 has been pushed back to 2019. Developed by former Sega legend Yu Suzuki’s Ys Net studio, the revenge-driven sequel has been delayed in order to benefit from additional polishing and to ensure the title is launched to the ‘high standards it deserves.’ Suzuki-san added that the extra development time will ‘allow us to deliver Shenmue 3 at its best. We promise to use this time to improve the quality of Shenmue 3....

Shenmue HD will release on August 21st on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. For those of you who can’t wait until Shenmue 3 will release (which at this point is looking closer to “never” every day), Shenmue HD brings the original two games back from the dustbin of history for a remaster on current-gen hardware. That means you can enjoy your first job as a forklift operator while trying to achieve vengeance for the death of your father on such modern consoles as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One....

Those of you that enjoy roguelike sci-fi titles no doubt love what Interactive Fate and Iceberg Interactive have brought with Shortest Trip to Earth. Now, the game is expanding in the best way possible with a new DLC pack. Say hello to The Supporters. This pack is due for release on October 23, with full details available on the Steam page. It will feature more goodies for fans of the game to enjoy....

10 Gallows Hall The Gallows Hall creation included with Anniversary Edition isn’t lore-breaking in and of itself. It’s a necromancer’s dream hideout located just outside Windhelm – totally within the realm of plausibility. What is less plausible, though, is that it houses the Staff of Worms, an incredibly powerful artifact belonging to the Necromancer-Lich Mannimarco from the second and third eras. Mannimarco never really made it to Skyrim, at least not in descriptions of the necromancer’s goings and coming in any Elder Scrolls game so far....

The Creation Kit is one of the strongest modding tools available, allowing hardcore fans to modify existing assets from Skyrim in new and exciting ways. The Elder Scrolls community is one of the most passionate groups in all of gaming, and this can be seen with its modding scene. Dating back as far as Daggerfall, players have modded these titles to fix, change, or add features the game was missing. Some offer silly alterations that are made for laughs, while others can completely change the core gameplay experience....

While we impatiently wait for The Elder Scrolls VI to come out, it’s always nice to revisit Skyrim. Even years after there are still quests and locations that you may have not ever discovered, and sometimes it’s just nice to take a different approach to the quests you’ve already done a million times before. Modding is a huge part of gaming, and those who are good at it choose to do so for a number of reasons, most of which can be very appreciated. Some instances occur as a reaction to developers not responsive to the desires and demands of players. Atlus released another of its daily trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2. Following the trailer released earlier today that focused on the playable character Milady, apparently, Atlus decided that it wasn’t enough, as this one shows more of the blonde heroine. As usual, the trailer also includes the daily horoscope with a ranking of signs from the luckiest to the unluckiest. Taurus is at the top, while Sagittarius is at the bottom of the fortune ranking....

Bandai Namco Games’ weapons-based brawler SoulCalibur VI has entered the UK Charts in eighth place. Physical sales of the critically acclaimed scrapper are down over 55% when compared to its 2012 predecessor, although it’s just the latest in a long line of major releases to fewer copies sold at brick-and-mortar retailers. Still, it’s not a particularly good start for Project Soul’s venerable fighting game franchise, particularly when they’ve said that SoulCalibur VI’s sales many affect the future of the brand....

Proletariat recently revealed that Spellbreak will begin to delve into its lore with a big free update on October 22. Titled The Gathering Storm, this update will serve as the Prologue to the magical battle royale’s Chapter System. In the lead up to the big release, the Design Director of Spellbreak released new information on the Chapter System and Prologue on Reddit. The latest reveals include details on how Spellbreak will combine the game’s evolving storyline with its version of a battle pass....
