The PlayStation 5 controller has been officially unveiled—it’s named the DualSense and sports a sleek tone-toned design, not unlike Atlas from Portal 2 (via PlayStation Blog). There’s been a lot of talk about the console’s technical specs, and the controller’s adaptive triggers that will offer an entirely new level of immersion while playing video games. The Tempest audio engine is also designed around the structure of the human skull and ear to deliver realistic soundscapes indiscernible from your surroundings....

Sony has started a public PlayStation Bug Bounty program which will pay people up to $50,000 if they’re able to identify security issues with the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Network. “To date, we have been running our bug bounty program privately with some researchers. We recognize the valuable role that the research community plays in enhancing security, so we’re excited to announce our program for the broader community,” said Sony in the announcement, and stated that the program is in collaboration with HackerOne....

THQ Nordic recently announced that its highly anticipated remake of the classic, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom, will be receiving two separate collector’s editions, each with its own handful of collectibles. The two collectible versions of the game have been named the Shiny Edition and the F.U.N. Edition, and each is guaranteed to put a smile on the face of any hardcore SpongeBob fan. The Shiny Edition will contain the game itself, as well as an exclusive 8" SpongeBob figurine depicting the character holding an infamous golden spatula and sticking out his “flexible” tongue....

Outriders players are finally starting to get their inventories back after the devastating inventory wipe glitch a few weeks ago. Square Enix announced yesterday that it began inventory restoration for Outriders players in its first classification group. Today, the studio got to work on the second group. Group A will receive all of their lost items, while Group B will receive lost legendary items. As an apology for the wait, all returned items will have God Roll values....

Square Enix has a faithful following all over the world for its Final Fantasy series, but they’re not the only games the team has developed. There are a lot of other great Square Enix games that get overshadowed by Final Fantasy, including some other RPGs. It’s time to take a look at some of the company’s other RPGs. A couple of weeks ago we told you about a new battle royale game called Stand Out that’s in the works but this time it’s in VR. Today the team have launched the game into Steam Early Access for more testing. Stand Out appears a little rough around the edges but this is very early access so there’s a lot still to be done. However, there have been regular updates over the past couple of weeks as testing progresses....

The final version of Star Wars Battlefront runs at 900p on PS4 and 720p on Xbox One, exactly the same as the game’s beta, Gaming Bolt reports. The game targets – and for the most part successfully achieves – 60fps on both platforms. The Xbox One version is reported to perform “slightly better” overall, however, with PS4 allegedly suffering from a “slightly inferior FPS performance at times”. Walker Assault mode is said to put the biggest strain on the game....

Star Wars saw a number of releases in 2019, ranging from comics and the opening of Galaxy’s Edge to the animated show, Resistance, and a few multimedia entries. Arguably, the biggest to release this year were, of course, Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Of the three, the latter delivered the best Star Wars story of the year. That’s not to say the Mandalorian and Rise of Skywalker aren’t worthwhile entries on their own, but that when it comes to delivering a classic Star Wars story, JFO captures and delivers upon the best elements....

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has now been out for just over two weeks and has proven that EA is capable of publishing an original, engaging, and fun Star Wars game. The game isn’t without its flaws, though, and among them is the main character, Cal Kestis. His blandness compared to the rest of the cast and disappointing customization features only highlight the fact that a character creator would have done the game a lot of good....

Microsoft has announced that brain-splattering zombie-’em-up State of Decay 2 has shambled past two million players in less than two weeks. The PC and Xbox One titled launched on May 22, and in that time players have mashed up nearly two billion of the lumbering coffin-dodgers. That’s a massive step up from the previous stat-drop, when gamers had dispatched around 675 million undead. Rebellion has announced that The Sunken Kingdom, the second chapter of Strange Brigade’s The Thrice Damned DLC, is now available for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The Sunken Kingdom sees the supernatural-slaying explorers poking around in a mysterious underground city, where they stumble across a ‘stunning’ temple at its centre.
