Carina Adly MacKenzie, the creator of Roswell, New Mexico, has left her position as co-showrunner of the series ahead of Season 3 due to “fundamental differences.” According to The Hollywood Reporter story that broke the news, the decision comes after MacKenzie’s relationship with studio Warner Bros. Television has “been strained for some time,” citing a Twitter incident in which MacKenzie criticized UK distributor ITV over cutting a gay love scene from the broadcast of the show that led Warner Bros....

The new Battlefield title will be set in World War II and will be known as Battlefield V, according to a new report on GamesBeat. Citing an anonymous source close to the project, the site confirms that the upcoming first-person shooter was previously known as Battlefield 2 internally at Electronic Arts. It’ll be the first entry in the multi-million selling franchise to take place in the Second World War since 2009’s Battlefield 1943....

Amensia: The Bunker, the “unscripted” WW1 horror from SOMA developer Frictional Games, has been delayed from its original March release window to 16th May. The Bunker - the fourth game in the Amnesia series, following on from The Dark Descent, A Machine for Pigs, and 2021’s Rebirth - is a bit of a departure from Frictional’s traditionally linear tales of horror, promising “unscripted” scares in a nightmarish semi-open-world. Unfolding in the claustrophobic confines of a dimly lit underground bunker, Frictional’s latest casts players as Henri Clément - a French soldier hunted by an “adaptive” otherworldly creature....

Sony announces that it has hired Nicolas Doucet, the game director of Astro Bot Rescue Mission, to lead its SIE Japan Studio. Astro Bot Rescue Mission was a critical and sales hit when it was released in 2018 and many said that the game is a reason to buy a PlayStation VR headset. In a short announcement on its Japanese site, Sony confirmed that Doucet has been the studio director of SIE Japan Studio since February 1, 2020....

A PlayStation 5 with a detachable disc drive is reportedly in the works by Sony for launch around September next year. The report, by Insider Gaming, suggests the console will otherwise have near-identical hardware to current PS5 models, with the only difference being the removable drive itself, and an extra USB-C port for it to plug in. There’s also the suggestion this new console will be sold both on its own and with the detachable disc drive included....
