Capcom has offered fans a full reveal for the latest entry in their beat-em-up series, Street Fighter 6, which is coming next year. The logo’s had something of a rehash since we first saw it back in February, but that wasn’t the main highlight here. In fact, we got to see a meaty chunk of gameplay footage and details on the latest entry. For a start, despite the previous Street Fighter being a PlayStation & PC exclusive, SF6 will arrive on Xbox Series X/S, too....

Yesterday’s Street Fighter 6 reveals weren’t nearly the end of it, and today Capcom had more to share about the upcoming fighting game. The developer behind Terminator: Resistance is moving onto the next mostly metal ’80s movie icon. During today’s Nacon Connect 2021 livestream, the show ended with a teaser trailer for RoboCop: Rogue City. Thankfully, it looks to be based on the real RoboCop, not the one from the recent (and quite forgettable) reboot. Of course, we wouldn’t have expected the latter. There’s no replacement for that chrome boy. RoboCop: Rogue City is still early in development, but Nacon is prepping it for a PC release sometime in 2023....

Since Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Activision has split the Call of Duty franchise between three different studios - Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer Games. This gives each entry in the series a three-year development cycle, which in theory results in better, more fully-featured games. However, a report earlier this year indicated that 2020’s Call of Duty would no longer be developed solely by Sledgehammer Games, with Treyarch having to step in and develop the game with just a two year development cycle....

Rust has sold over 12 million copies. Making the announcement in a new year round-up, developer Facepunch revealed that as well as selling 12,481,079 copies of the game, it’s also sold over one million DLC packs - a surprisingly modest number, given the number of people invested in the vanilla game, perhaps? - and has over 400,000 users on its Discord server. The rundown also revealed the team has banned over 600,000 accounts from the game and topped 1....

Surprisingly, PC got two PlayStation titles on PC this month. Sackboy: A Big Adventure doesn’t have the AAA pomp that the other former Sony exclusives we’ve received have offered, but it’s still a charming, worthwhile adventure on its own merits. The game launched today and I’m once again quite pleased with the quality of the port. Creator of the Silent Hill series Keiichiro Toyama has announced the formation of a new game studio known as Bokeh Game Studio alongside fellow industry veterans Kazunobu Sato and Junya Okura. The three have plenty of high-profile games under their belt, with Sato being a former producer for 2016’s The Last Guardian and Okura being the Lead Game Designer on all three Gravity Rush games. All three of them have also previously worked together on PS2 survival horror series Siren (known as Forbidden Siren in the UK) as a Director, Lead Character Design and Lead Game Designer, respectively....

The return of Stephen King to both big and small screens continues with Sleeping Beauties, the novel co-written with the writer’s son, Owen King. AMC has ordered a pilot, according to Deadline, and a script is being penned by the younger King. The show has been in talks since before the novel was even published in 2017. SOMA, the survival horror game which released for PC and PS4 10 days ago, has sold 92,000 copies, developer Frictional Games has announced. A breakdown of sales by platform apparently can’t be shared, however, due to legal reasons. “The money that we’ve got from this will pretty much pay our company expenses for another 2 years,” explained a Facebook post from the studio. “Sales are still going pretty strongly too, with a total of around 2,000 copies sold per day....

Song of Horror is an ambitious undertaking that aims to strike fear into the player by targeting their deepest-rooted insecurities. Using artificial intelligence, Protocol Games tracks player behavior to determine where and when to strike next, leaving no two playthroughs exactly the same. While both of the project’s Kickstarter campaigns failed back in 2015, the studio eventually found alternative funding and is finally able to release the first two episodes just in time for Halloween 2019....

Sony has announced during its latest financial results that PlayStation 4 has shipped approximately 86.1 million units worldwide. The electronics giant revealed that 3.9 million PS4s were moved during the three month period ended September 30. This figures is down slightly year-on-year, although that’s probably to be expected at this point in the console’s lifecycle. Sony has set its sights on shipping 17.5 million PS4s during the 2018 financial year, which wraps up on March 31, 2019....

Today Atlus released one of its daily trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, focusing on one of the demons that will appear in the game. Today’s reveal showcases the return of another fairly rare demon that debuted in the original Soul Hackers, Saturnus. We’ve known it’s coming for some time. Initial press and controller imagery from Sony was swiftly augmented by leaked specifications, now fully fleshed out via an announcement from Jim Ryan himself at CES 2022, along with more details from the PlayStation Blog. PlayStationVR 2 is now official and it’s looking hugely exciting. In fact, from our perspective, high-end VR gaming in general needs a shot in the arm in a world where the mobile-based Oculus Quest 2 reigns supreme and the success of PlayStationVR 2 is our best chance of this happening....

Splatoon 2 players will be given bonuses when transferring save data to Splatoon 3. Nintendo’s Splatoon 3 Direct earlier this week detailed what’s new in the game, but a note on the official website states that save data can be transferred and players will receive in-game rewards for doing so. Apparently “five out of five Squid Research Lab scientists recommend transferring data from Splatoon 2 if you have it”. So that’s that....
