Spyro Reignited Trilogy has yet to be announced for Nintendo Switch, but it’s apparently on its way, according to a listing on GameStop Germany (via Gematsu). The retailer claims the little purple fella’s revamped PlayStation trilogy will be hitting Ninty’s console on August 16, so it’s still some way off. Well, that is, assuming it is coming out; don’t take this as official until we hear from Activision. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last November, and features fully revamped editions of Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon....

The single-player story companion to the upcoming and long-awaited Star Citizen, called Squadron 42, has just been delayed by about three months, and is expected to release in the third quarter of 2020. Star Citizen is the result of a Kickstarter campaign, launched in 2012 by game developer Chris Roberts. Roberts’ past games, Wing Commander and Freelancer, were combat simulators, placing players inside the cockpits of ships battling in space. The Kickstarter promised a new space simulation game with both online/offline single-player content and a mod-able multiplayer component....

The latest patch for Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been released taking the game to v1.03. This update focuses on various issues including gameplay and technical issues such as clipping. There is also mention of a new End of Round MVP screen which will now highlight players on their score instead of honors. DICE also mentions that balance changes for the Heroes vs. Villains mode will be coming in a future patch....

It looks as though a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order might be in the works already. Developer Respawn Entertainment has posted three new job openings, all of them specifically for the interior Star Wars team. As spotted by GamesRadar, the positions being advertised are for a senior character artist, a senior software engineer, and a level designer. The descriptions for each job make it clear that the successful applicant would be working on a Star Wars game....

Stardew Valley Quests are great for earning rewards and building friendships with Villagers. There are two main quests to complete: Story and Help Wanted missions. Sega Forever is the new initiative from Sega to bring its old games to your phone. Every game that’s a part of Sega Forever will be available for free, with the option to turn off ads if you fork over $1.99 per game. Five games will be available at its imminent launch: Sonic The Hedgehog, Altered Beast, Kid Chameleon, Phantasy Star II, and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. Sega said Sega Forever ‘will include both official emulations and ported games that span all Sega console eras, each adapted specifically for mobile devices while remaining faithful to the original games....

A rating for a new Silent Hill game has been spotted in South Korea. Silent Hill: The Short Message has been rated by The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea, as spotted by Gematsu. Platforms have not been specified, but the publisher is listed as UNIANA, which publishes Konami games in the country - eFootball 2023 was also included in this crop of ratings. The official Skate Twitter account has confirmed the series will head to the PC for the first time with its upcoming next instalment. A simple but effective video shows a skateboarder pulling off a flip over a CRT monitor to confirm the news. All of the previous titles in the series, from 2007’s original Skate to 2010’s Skate 3 released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 only. It’ll be interesting to see how the controls translate to a mouse and keyboard, as it traditionally relied heavily on the analogue sticks....

Slay the Spire is a deck-building card game set in a very original dark fantasy universe. It first entered Early Access on Steam back in November 2017 where it was quite successful, earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” reception. The game sold over one million copies by the end of June 2018. Its final release in January this year consolidated its reputation as a genre-defining card game, spawning its own subgenre. Sony “probably” would have cancelled The Last Guardian if fans hadn’t kept asking for an update on the project, Shuhei Yoshida has revealed. Speaking to EDGE, the president of SCE Worldwide Studios explained that porting the project from PS3 to PS4 was “really, really tough. Especially because we were not sure if the game could be made. “Tech issues aside, the game was still early in development, so we had to have a really strong desire to continue the project and rebuild on PS4....

Rumors were already spreading that Sony was about to shut down a handful of development studios, and now Sony Online Entertainment has made the news official. SOE’s Denver, Tucson, and Seattle studios were confirmed to be on the chopping block as SOE announced that it was restructuring to reduce costs and streamline its global workforce. This likely comes as shocking news to the employees of the closed studios as 205 positions at the online-focused wing of Sony Computer Entertainment America were eliminated....
