This past weekend, Microsoft sort of let loose that both Bayonetta and Vanquish would be receiving remasters on current-generation platforms. After a Microsoft Store listing spoiled all of the details, Sega has outright confirmed that both titles are, indeed, returning to the gaming landscape. Times have changed since Shenmue was first introduced to audiences back in 1999. For example, downloadable content has all but become commonplace for modern games. Patches, season passes, and updates weren’t exactly an everyday occurrence back in the day, especially for consoles. Focus Home Interactive has revealed the first gameplay footage of Enigami’s crowd-funded action RPG Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom. Due for release later this year, Shiness takes players on an adventure across the world of Mahera where they find themselves caught amidst a conflict between multiple kingdoms, and who must travel between different islands using their flying ship. Players will get to play as five different characters each with unique abilities, and rank up two different skill trees to gain access to new physical attacks and magical spells....

Sifu has a new gameplay trailer, and it features some thudding violence in a nightclub, and what looks like a boss encounter. During IGN’s Summer of Gaming Expo, we got a slew of trailers, and the new gameplay trailer for Sifu gave us more of what we know. This is isn’t a bad thing, because what we know is that it seems to be a kind of Kung Fu-John Wick mix....

Sifu is a new Kung Fu action game from Sloclap, the developer behind Absolver, and it’s coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in 2021. It was revealed as part of Sony’s February State of Play showcase, and it looks hectic, cramped, punishing, and immensely satisfying. The wait is nearly over and Slay the Spire will be available May 21 for the PS4, while those wanting to ascend the tower on the Nintendo Switch will need to wait a bit longer. The popular roguelike, deck-building game by developer Megacrit left Early Access on Steam in January of this year. While the PS4 has received a firm launch date, developer u/SneakySly explained why the Nintendo Switch may not have a simultaneous release....

Following the success of Persona 5 Royal, Atlus made a pretty huge announcement back in October 2022. For the first time ever, gamers would be able to experience remastered versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden on Xbox and Nintendo consoles. As someone who just got into the series himself, thanks to Persona 5 Royal on Game Pass, I was super excited to hear this news. It’s been 34 days since Sony took the PlayStation Network offline because of an ‘Unauthorized network access’, and while most of the PSN is up and running, Sony has figured out how much of a financial hit the breach will cost them. In a statement released this morning, Sony estimated that the current known cost from the cyber attack is ¥14 billion, which translates to roughly $172 million. The estimate came in an update of financial forecasts that Sony will release in more detail later this week....

Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 will take players roughly 20 hours to complete, developer Insomniac Games has revealed. Death awaits the Jedi in “Shattered,” one of the darkest episodes of The Clone Wars to date. Covering the events of Order 66 from Ahsoka and Maul’s perspective, the two Force users must fight for their lives to escape the clone troopers who want to kill them. Unsurprisingly, the central plot of this episode features many references to Revenge of the Sith as well as some of the other movies.
